Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I am disappointed in Alan Wake

the only thing i would say bad about Alan wake is seemed to slow down too much in fights, whether intentional or not id like the pace to stay the same. and at the end of the trailer the chick says "wake up alan wake up" i pray to the game gods this whole game is not a big dream he has of his novel or whatever.

Who cares about the 360 version anyway. Graphic whores like me have a high end pc. Alan wake looked meh, but had an ok overall feel about it. It did look better then those screenshots from a month or 2 back though. Anyone remember those?

Anyway, I am hoping for a game with a good story. I am not expecting anything mindblowing on my pc from a console port (doesn't matter what console btw). Game is still on my maybe list as it's always been.

Infamous8 is allowed his opinion though. Alan Wake simply isn't the game it's hyped up to be at this stage of development and I can see why he is currently dissapointed.

The game was graphically stunning.

It is not surprising you were unimpressed. As one of our site's most ingrained Sony fanboys, you have to lay the ground work for an unjustified attack on Microsoft's E3 credentials because in all likelihood Sony will be unable to trump them.

i guess it takes one to know one :p oh snap !

Did you just call me a Sony Fanboy?

...

I think that's what he was going for there.

yep

Check out my game about moles ^

I'm disappointed in infamous8.

With all the time you spend bashing the 360, you could actually spend more time at work, getting more pay and then buying more PS3 consoles and PS3 games.

That way at least you'll be boosting PS3 sales and revenue. It doesn't look like your constant 360 bashing has resulted in a decline in 360 sales or hype for its games.

Also, Alan wake was far from a disappointment for me. It was engaging, tense and suspenseful. I wouldn't say it was scary, but it had an amazing atmosphere.

was it Alan Pain or perhaps Max Wake ?

I also think the slow motion stuff doesn't fit with horror game : it just killed the oppressive feeling already quite hard to generate in an open environnement

Thought infamous was not allowed to show face in forums for 1yr after the fail topic of the morning?

I agree completely. I think it was going for more of a creepy atmosphere then scary, which I really think is awesome.

It looked good, but it was very different from what I expected. It was tagged as a psychological horror and the tech demos were about expansive, monumental environments.

What they demo-ed though was an action packed, over the shoulder RE4/5 like gameplay. It could be that what they showed doesn't reflect the atmosphere of the game as a whole, but I expected something more like an adventure game, and with a subtler setting.
