Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I am disappointed in Alan Wake

Troll thread by a butt hurt PS3 fanboy, sore much?

Of course you (OP) are, you are one of the biggest Sony fanboys I've seen on this site recently. Besides, the graphics were decent and probably are better in bigger environments (and at daytime when you can see more), there was actually pretty much gameplay and didn't seem too bad, and thinking a 2009 release likely was plain stupid. Besides, we got a solid, yet inaccurate, release window anyway.

Not to say I'm expecting it to be phenomenal or something like that - I'm expecting it to be a good game, just not huge.

cleaner - What game, exactly, is more revolutionary?

What I mean is I want a game that will convince me to buy a 360 - I find Halo as an alright game but its still another shooter - Alan wake is something different but it still hasn't convinced me - I think the 360 is a great machine even though my personal preference is the PS3 it just when LBP was announced I saw that as something different - It wasn't a sequel or another FPS, it was original - I know some people will disagree with me its just I haven't seen any 360 game that I could count as original - I'm not saying the PS3 is as the only title I can think of is LBP but I want something new

Viva Pinata, Braid, they're just the first 2 that immediately sprang out at me.  There will be no game that makes you suddenly decide to buy a 360, either the library offers enough change from the PS3 to make you want to get it or it doesn't.  For myself and many others who went multi platform we can see there is great innovtive games on all 3 consoles to enjoy.

No 2009 release.

Limited gameplay footage shown.

Average graphics.

meh. I was expecting a lot more considering how much the internet fanboys hyped it up. Ah well. I'll probably still pick it up.

You know it isn't for the PS3, right?  Wait, you have an uber-PC right.  Nevermind.

Anyhow, for contrast, let's take inFAMOUS.  By the same standard it has "average graphics".  It is an awesome game.  The graphics aren't a problem, and it works.  Will see for Alan Wake how it works also.  The entire world is rendered dynamically the way a sandbox game is.  A reason to keep an eye on it, is that I believe it is the first game in the horror-psychological thriller genre that is in a sandbox.

Average graphics? It was.. Dark.. Since there are day and night cycles, i suggest most of you wait to see footage during the day in the game, before making any conclusions. Besides, the footage was far from HD and one simply can not say yet that the game has "average" graphics. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. We'll have to wait.
