I think Nintendo is breathing a sigh of relief after seeing NATAL in action, that was about as lame as I thought it would be

Are you kidding me? This is the most awesome thing I've ever seen.

I see myself using my arm to grapple stuff like in Bionic Commando! I hope developers will make good use of this technology, and Microsoft can achieve this for sure (they're billionaires!!!).

After seeing how it was used in the demos, the idea you are coming up with is pretty unlikely, the interface won't be effective for doing something like that, the pointing ability seems very imprecise

Did you see the girl moving in a 3D space? This was done with just a single little camera!

Yeah and she was flailing around without any real control, that won't work in action games

We'll see. I have faith that if developers make good use of the technology, everything is possible. =P

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

How can anyone say that that was a dud conference? They showed a ton of core games!
- Left 4 Dead 2 (Never expected this so soon!)
- CrackDown 2
- Halo ODST (Graphics seemed well improved with the normal great Halo gameplay)
- Halo: Reach (Yes! A NEW Halo!)
- Alan Wake (Gameplay looked very cool, creepy style)
- Forza 3 (WOW, graphics looked better than GT5)
- Splinter Cell Conviction (Really impressed by the game, looks very cinematic and fun)
- Metal Gear Solid Rising
- Modern Warfare 2 with exclusive DLC (Amazing, can't wait!)

And they also left out one of their big guns - Mass Effect 2. AND announced a lot for the new dashboard update: Last FM, Facebook, Twitter, Zune Marketplace and Sky TV.

And thats not including the motion camera stuff, which even without it in the conference, the show was great!

Because most of the games were not interesting, at least not as shown, and NATAL looked lame, and who cares about facebook and twitter, I give that conference a 6/10 at most

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Seriously Im flabbergasted by some of the above comments downplaying this piece of history. I really dont know how Sony or Nintendo can top this. This was absolutely amazing and Project Natal is going to be a benchmark for a lot of things. There was an MGS multiplat and a next Halo.

The only missing elements were RPGs and MMOs.

Now the most important question of all...

why did the color of Raiden's eyes change?

All the integration of Last.fm, Facebook, and HD 1080P streaming makes the xbox even more accessible to people who've never owned a home console before, and as Spielbergo said, 60% of people do not own a home console. If the 360 could give me DishNetwork I would only need 1 box in my Great Room. The games look great, but the real momentum was forced by all the new integration of other services. + Natal; my 3 year old watched the entire presentation. I don't see how any competitor can beat this presentation. Yoko, Harrison's son and wife, Ringo, McCartney, Hawk, Spielbergo, MGS, Natal, Facebook, Last.fm(the greatest addtion IMO), streaming HD, SKY...

About the Miko stuff :

thereisstillan high possibility that thisis fully scripted

in the sense that Miko knows what u are going to do

(it is then a matter of IA and had nothing to do with motion control)

Yes, of course there are a lot of scripts. Some movements triggers a script and some dont, and if you dont do "the next awaited step(s)" the game won't go on (as an example).

So it will be 90% about creating good AI, if we're talking about RPG and other advanced games in the more distant future.

NATAL will be a glorified eyetoy, maybe 5-6 games will use it, and most of them will be minigames. the games shown were either really lame, or were not shown in any real detail to really care much about, I say Alan Wake was the best, but even it had annoying slow motion garbage

Piece of history? Are you kidding me?

How is this any more than an EyeToy with voice recognition? They didn't show any compelling software for their camera outside of Mylo which looks exactly like Eyedentify.

And the estimated price for it is $200.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

That was a pretty good showing. They showed L4D 2 and Crackdown 2 a little bit too briefly though. I just can't say anything yet on The Natal Project. I hope it won't turn out like the Wii remote...

Decent conference overall, but I really didn't see a MEGATONZ!!!! So much for that. Anyways MGS:R looks good, and the Halo:Reach thing was alright as well.
