Forums - Nintendo Discussion - THQ - Wii is a nightmare for third parties, it's a Monopoly box in the clos

as i see it thq hasnt made a decent hard core game since wcw was still around to make games for. now all i see is shovelware and games like deadly creatures. hellooo deadly creatures i thought was a bad idea to begin with. who cares if yo ucan play a bug in a game. give me something fun and exciting to play. then say how much you think the wii sucks but look at how certain 3rd party games that are high quality sells on teh wii. they sell very well. if you spend time and money on making a good wii game you will get sales. plain and simple

Amazing how quickly the company that made a great game like de Blob are being referred to as crap for 1 person stating their disinterest for the Wii.

It was made as a free game for the PC by some students. THQ ported it to the Wii... and sold it at full price.

When the whole world is going in one direction and you are going in the opposite. Who is in the wrong? Maybe, just maybe everyone is right and those resisting against what everyone is saying is wrong?

While I agree that the word of one douchebag is being blown out of proportion, that's what happens when you let douchebags speak for your company. Publishers need to make their employees understand that there are potential customers who hear what they have to say and make judgements based on those statements. Good will can mean the difference between whether a customer buys de Blob or Warioland.

This THQ exec is entitled to his opinion, and might not represent the opinion of THQ as a whole, but his ignorant statements are going to reverberate though web sites like this one and cost THQ customers which THQ really can't afford to lose. Ubisoft and Capcom have already been burned by the flapping gums of some of their staff, and publishers will continue to get burned until they teach their employees to either STFU or use a little diplomacy.

No wonder they're posting record losses.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Maybe we should all buy a few shares of stock and take over the Q&A session of tomorrow's on-line investor briefing.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

THQ isn't known for being a great company for gamers. But he certainly can insult his target market: they arent the ones that are going to hear about it.

I'll keep this in mind for when THQ files bankruptcy or gets bought out for pennies.

Harsh, but it's a fact that this company fails at business, much like many other publishers these days.
