Counting only Wii games (no VC, but yes WiiWare) I'd still take PS2 easily.

Right now, the overwhelming majority of top-notch Wii games are first-party, third-parties are just starting to figure out the console and develop good games for it. There's so many good third-party games that haven't come over to Wii or only came out as gimped ports (ie, where's the online). The best versions of Call of Duty, Dead Rising, NBA Live, etc were HD.

No matter how much more the Wii sells, because of it's technical limitations, I believe that there will always be games that are HD only. There was no such thing with the PS2, as it was the undisputed leader of the industry. Sure, there were some games that went Xbox/GC exclusive, but nowhere near as many that go HD exclusive right now.

The PS2 had every genre covered, and appealed to every gamer. The fact that it still sells almost as much as the PS3 is a testament to that, and I don't think the Wii will be able to keep up sales this far into the next generation.

Shin: I meant "for example" Also Re4's definitive version is yes, on the Wii. Though I think it is a premature question to ask. Wii's not even 3 yrs old yet. A good comparison would be the PS2 library 2.5 yrs in vs the Wii library 2.5 yrs in.

Correct me. PC non canon. Note that I'm talking in shear quantity, counting both fantastic Ninty games and s**tastic third party games as only 1 game each.

What are you smoking? The PS2 is probably the most memorable system of all time, because of it's record breaking sales and its massive library of quality games. I would say the only system that is more memorable and respected then the PS2 is the NES because it proved that games could be fun and high quality at the same time. While the PS2 showed that games should be considered an Art Form and has now allowed it to become a respected form of media.


Hell pretty soon Movie Directors and Actors WILL be turning to games for inspiration BECAUSE of the PS2

In my opinion, PS2 hands down...by the time the system reached 2.5 years I had Onimusha, Devil May Cry, Gran Turismo 3, Final Fantasy X, GTA III, Metal Gear Solid 2, Jak and Daxter, etc...
