There will be no price cut; Sony cannot afford to do so. The PS3Slim, if it materializes, will go for the same price as the PS3, and the PSPGo will cost at least as much as the PSPSlim, and possibly more (portable makers can get away with price hikes on hardware refreshes; it has happened many times in the past).
The days of predatory loss leaders from Sony are over. They got lucky with that for two generations, but their luck has run out. This set of refreshes represent a matter of catching up: certainly they will cut production costs, but those savings will not be passed on to consumers. Sony needs those savings to start making money on its hardware again.
Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.
