FF XIII first week in Japan will outsell ME2 first week worldwide...

Ok now that is going too far.

Mass Effect 2 won't do over a million first week, and FFXIII will easily crack a million first week in Japan. I predict 1.6 - 1.9 million first week in Japan for FFXIII, and thats not just a random number, I crunched the numbers and made a thread about how I got them :)

Don't under estimate the power of Final Fantasy in Japan.

I'm not underestimating Final Fantasy in Japan. I'm noting that Japan will not crack over 1/3 of the PS3 installed base in Japan within a week.

Ok I'm going to have to dig up that thread for you, 1/3 of PS3 owners buying FFXIII first week is very plausible. Seriously check out that thread, I didn't think the attach ratio would be that high but the numbers don't lie.

Mass effect is Great. But you can't compare a 6 hour game to a 40 hour game. BTW just to be clear Mass effect is the six hour game. Perhaps 20 if you want to roll around on a random moon for a few hours. "Mining" for minerals. Every FF since 4 has been 40 hours+. And that's not including all the side trash. Include that and you have 100 hours plus+.

GG ttyl.

FF7 and FF10 both sold 2mil first week while the PS and PS2 were at 5 million. thats 40%. the ps3 should be at least 3.5 mil. 40% is 1.4 million.

In terms of sales, FFXIII will destroy Mass Effect 2 by almost every measure available. In terms of quality, it is quite possible that ME2 will be comfortably superior, though no Sony fan would EVER admit it.

It doesnt take to be a Sony fan to not admit that.

Put it this way.  Mass Effect has an aggregate score of 91, whereas each of the last two main story FF's got a 92.  The one before that got an 85.

Mass Effect had MASSIVE technical issues and STILL got that awesome score.  It is quite possible there will be an upset.

Do you honestly believe that 1 or 2 points of metascore somehow support your position? Really?

I'm sorry.  I bow completely to whatever equally objective but more valid tool of comparison you are about to present to us...

You know, the funny thing is that I can use your logic and still win this argument. Final Fantasy XII is a better game than Mass Effect, check the metascore.

And I dont think that there is any objective tool of comparison at all. But if millions of gamers will chose FFXIII over Mass Effect 2 - it gotta mean something.

::Looks at the bold, silence mounts...and then::

BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suggest you to go see a doctor, S.T.A.G.E.

I wouldn't trust Metacritic even if they gave Mass Effect a 95. I don't know why you people give that website the time of day. Second of all, Mass Effect is a superior videogame to Final Fantasy XII. The story of FF was not that interesting to tell you the truth and thats what Final Fantasy games rely on 85 % of the time.

I believe mass effect 2 will quite possibly be the highest rated WRPG this generation.

Although I might just have high hopes.
NA = mass effect
worldwide = FF13 or pokemon platinum lol.

It is plausible. I'm not denying this, but that was when JRPG demand was higher.

Obviously you've never played Mass Effect. To enjoy Mass Effect to its fullest you have over 60+ hours of gameplay.Unlike Final Fantasy, you play the game multiple times while finding and exeriencing new things. This cannot be done in a linear final fantasy game. One play through is enough.

Actually, if you rush through the game it's like 10 hours at least. S.T.A.G.E. said:

Actually, if you rush through the game it's around 10-12 hours.. My first playthrough said 24 hours, but it was closer to 30 with me dying and such.

I have played Mass Effect, the best version, the PC version.
