The cut scenes are nice, but the game play play footage resembles Neo Geo graphics, and that's not a good thing. And besides, it's 2D, so it better have good graphics... But, like I said... Neo Geo graphics... Which is a double no-no. Never-the-less, it looks nice, but just remember that it is a 2D game...

I couldn't find any posted screenshots of this game, so I will just post Odin Sphere screens for it (identical art style and graphic level)...

I don't know what you're smoking, but pass the pipe.

What third party Wii games look better than this?

What other 2D side scrolling games have third parties created for the Wii?

I have no idea, but my question was in earnest. The art style and direction of this game far surpasses a lot of games on the Wii currently. This and Project O are welcome additions.

Agreed.  It's great to see 3rd party games that aren't quick cash ins popping up on the Wii finally.

Gotta love 2D games on a powerful 3D system. No reason why we wouldn't see more of these, and all with luscious graphics!

Not to bash the graphics, but I'm just saying, this thing looks like SNES quality. I mean, think Donkey Kong Country with better art design.

Anyway, looks cool but I'm afraid it's to "Japanese" for the casual U.S. gamer. Should do well in Japan though.

Those graphics are not SNES or even N64 level at all, the PS2 couldn't even pull it off without tons of slow down.  You might want to watch the game in motion.

it's a niche game in the US, but the even the PS2 game sold like 150k in the us.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

looks great. If there's some replayability there I may have to pick it up

Any ideas on release timeframes?

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

well odin sphere was basically a simultaneous release, so this one might be too. probably late 08.

Er.. is this Wiiware? As Ben said, it looks like it can be done on the PSP

Mmmm... legs... :)~

I like how the game looks, it's style and all, but I agree with everyone: This could be done even on the PSP.

But I love that some people use the power of console for some really good 2D, detailed sprites, animations, backgrounds, etc.... love it.
