Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Bethesda to reveal its new game tomorrow on Gametrailers

This isn't going to be a "mature" game. It's going to be a deep, exporation-based game in traditional Bethesda style, but it'll be rated "T" and targeted at a broad range of demographics. A "Universal Appeal" game ala The Sims.

I hope its Fallout 4.

Or Elder Scrolls V

Now that I read this post, it seems both ridiculous and pathetic that even when a team clearly says "big title", almost no one even dares to think of anything but ports, and spin-offs, because there are no big titles on the Wii, period.

It won't be a wii exclusive if it is ES V. ES made itself popular on the PC due to alot of the mods that are made for it by the users. The real charm of these games is the modding, which adds in new weps, new storylines, new guilds, etc. They should make an exploration game, but not the mainline ES one. ES should never be a console exclusive.

Now Playing: The Witcher (PC)

Consoles Owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Boy, DS

Well in this case I can understand Bethesda making a "spin-off" not because it's on the Wii. I've never harped on Bethesda being bad programmers in regards to features when it comes to console work. I harp on Capcom because they have done a better job on older consoles. Bethesda is a PC developer first. If they see a machine that can be PC like then they will work on it. The HDD pretty much passes the consoles off as PC like. The Wii even though it's SDHC compatible with the patch still sorta isn't. The company also has a phisophy of MORE. More objects with more polygon per object, with more texture per object, just plain MORE features. While I like the While the Wii isn't built on the philisophy. Wii is built with the philosphy that the powe is good enough. It's all about how you play the games. The Wii could handle the features, but I doubt that Bethesda woulddowngrade the graphics. Bethesda could do it though. Take a look at Daggerfall. They have done spawling RPG games on lower spec. Something like Redgaurd isn't so much a spin-off as much it's more telling a different story from there vast bland world.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

ITS A FALLOUT ON RAILS SHOOTER!

(just kidding. or not...)

There's no way Elder Scrolls V will even appear on Wii. Look what they did with Oblivion; the game made all other at that time look like caricatures. Elder Scrolls has always been a series that pushes the current technology.

I'm placing my bet at either a Fallout or Elder Scrolls very quality spin-off, and I couldn't be more happy.

I don't mind Bethesda making a Wii game, but I still think they should spend their time on a worthy console that can handle their games, not a watered down Wii game.

Worthy implies that it is worth investing in that system. Well after Bionic Commando and Hawks and all those other failures recently why would making the game for PS360 be such a worthy proposition?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I hope it isn't a Elder Scrolls/Fallout 3 type game. I want those for PC so I can mod them. I would definitely like an old styled Fallout though. Hopefully if they did that they can replicate the play style since they aren't the ones who developed them.

Oblivion and Fallout 3:

Both games use the Gambryo game engine which was ported to Wii last year.

Thanks for ruining the surprise Viper. /sarcasm.

Wait so are you saying both Oblivion and Fallout 3 are coming to the Wii? If so that is indeed fantastic news.

Currently enjoying: Monster Hunter Tri.

I'd rather them put their efforts into creating new and exciting experiences, not watered down HD games.

u c wat i did thar???

It would only be watered down because A: Wii does not do HD and B: it doesn't have the graphics/physics power to handle it like PS3/360 would.

See what I did there?

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

See, when devs make a game on the HD console they use their horsepower to make extremely realistic graphics. Examples: MGS4, RE5, KillZone2, Gears of War 2, and Uncharted 2.

When devs make a game on the Wii, they use its underhorsepower to make extremely creative and unique graphics. Examples: MadWorld, Okami, de Blob, HotD:O, No More Heroes, Muramasa and RedSteel 2.

Wii also has a lot of extremely realistic graphical games. Examples: Shattered Hill: Silent Memories, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, Dead Space: Extraction,  and The Grinder.

HD consoles are home to mostly realistic looking games while the Wii has a balance of both. The balance is not exactly 50:50 but it is better than the ratio on the HD consoles. I bet you every Wii owner would admit that they like the Wii (If they do) because of its creativity, intuitivity and just plain fun.
