Forums - General Discussion - Should Micheal Vik be allowed to play NFL again?

I say sure, why not. He commited a crime, was punished, and did the time.

Like anyone, he should be allowed to return to his occupation of choice. Hopefully, he has learned the lesson in animal cruelty and won't do it again.

He'll be allowed back in. Roger Goodell just wants to see that Vick can stay on good behavior after having his freedom back before he reinstates him. You have to understand this was a big stain in NFL PR terms, and Goodell is trying to get the sport on better standings like the NBA has managed to do. I think the general conditions are that Vick plays next season doing Arena Football and then gets reinstated the following season.

Vick's biggest problem is getting a team that is willing to offer him a lucrative contract once he's back in. The Falcons don't want him, and no one wanted to trade 2010 draft picks for him. Frankly I don't see a large market for him when he's allowed back. It'll be a desperate team that will end up with him, similiar to the Lions picking up Daunte Culpepper last year. When he is allowed back, I say he's either a backup or will be a starter for a team in the bottom five.

i think Vick should be able to play football again. His personal desicions have affected him and those around him. I don't see how not letting him back into football will do anything for the common folk. He did the time for his crime. He paid his debt to the law.

He did his time, so if someone will take him, he should be allowed back. It will be interesting to see who goes for it.

I want him to play again. Being a big Hokie fan I have always liked the guy. I admit I absolutely hate Atlanta being in North Carolina but I always enjoyed watching him play.

I actually saw a rumor on espn.com about him being in talks with the Redskins. Too bad you have to be an espn insider to actually see it. Anyone have an insider account and could expand on the story?

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

I think he was treated harshly. How many other people do the same thing and get away with a few months?

Goodell should reinstate him. Whether or not anyone will hire him though...

As long as he's still amazing to watch

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Proffesional athletes are supposed to be role models and should be of good moral character.
I say let McDonalds hire him instead.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

I can't help it, I have to point out the obvious spelling error in the title. I hope you mean Michael Vick.

On topic yes he should be allowed back in. He did his time and he should be given another chance. Athletes have done worse things and been allowed to play later on I'm sure.
