Forums - Gaming Discussion - Would you play a September 9/11 game?

Soleron said:
No; not because of the subject but instead because I don't see how they could make it into a good game. What would you do? Rescue people? Play the part of the terrorists? I can't see a viable mechanic.

this right here. I don't see how you could make the game and it not be totally lame. If I want to crash planes into buildings I can use a flight simulator

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

First, I agree with the idea that this would be a terrible game-play concept for a game.

Second, to those who have said people who wouldn't play this, but would play WWII games are hypocrites: Yes, WWII is much worse, but I bet most would not have an issue playing a game set in Afghanistan or even Iraq (though the later could have some moral objectors.)

I hope I am not being insensitive as I write this, but a 911 game playing as victims or terrorists would be more parallel (though on a much smaller scale) to a Holocaust game, than playing a game about a war that partially spawned from it.

I would like to play as a jew surviving in a Konzentrationslager trying to survive or escape.

Yes, if its good, but it will probably suck if they make it.

That is an awesome concept my friend, nomatter how controversial it may be.

Then after you sucessfully escape, you need make it to neutral territory.

I've already played it in LittleBigPlanet.

GREAT idea. I'm thinking different endings depending on how many Jew Tokens you collect.

Bad ending: Escape fails and you watch your family get shot first, then you.

Medium ending: Get 5 paces outside camp and get machine-gunned down by Nazi guards

Good ending: Get 5 paces outside camp and get machine-gunned down by Nazi guards, but you get one glimpse of an approaching British squadron representing hope for your fellow inmates.

(Joking. A lot.)

doesn't sound like fun, but why not.

Btw, I know you were joking......but escaping the camp would only be 30% of the game, so it would be impossible to have an ending there.
