Forums - General Discussion - Last day of the premier league tomorrow

The Newcastle negativity in this thread is a disgrace!
We will be back, quote me on that

We have the best fans, best stadium, best culture, worst players. Just need to shoot Mike Ashley and fix the last point and we will succeed. I can't really believe things got like this. I started supporting the Toon back in 1999. We were either challenging for Champions league spots or league titles. The board got too big headed and because we only made the Uefa Cup they sacked Sir Bobby Robson. From there on in we had manager after manager, and things got really bad. Kevin Keegan then came in, everything was looking better. We drew with United on the first day of the season this year, everyone thought we could challenge for Europe again. Then ofcourse big fat Mike Ashley pisses off Keegan, we get a has-been manager and we our left in a terrible position with 8 games left. Shearer comes in, gives us hope again.....but then it just dosen't happen.

I've been waiting for the FA Cup to get on ever since it became clear Man U was going to win.

Any Everton fans here I can mock?

Zexen lowe is the resident everton fan, but to be honest with their achievement I don't think anyone can mock really lol.

I would love it if Everton won.

West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle United, Middlesbrough all relegated to Championship for 2009-10 season. I am amazed Hull City stayed up! Promoted to the Premier League 2009-10 are Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City & either Sheffield United or Burnley (I'm personally rooting for Burnley).

If Shearers gets Newcastle to bounce back he will officially be a toon legend.

The thing is you hagve the players but no manager consistency and the back room is a shambles with Mike Ashley wanting out. It was inneviatable. To be honest I wouldn't mind half the players at Aston villa

I hope Burnley too. Sheffield have never exactly been a stimulating team for the premiership.

And Its in my opinion that the league is getting ruined with all these 'nobody' teams coming and going.

Would be so much better In my opinion if we had Newcastle, Leeds and Spurs in their once dominant positions challenging with the top four. Newcastle getting relegated is bad for the league. You are getting a club with a huge fanbase and stadium going down and a team with no fans and a pathetic stadium coming up.

Which 2 teams got already promoted for next season's Premier League?

birmingham city and Wolverhapmton wanderers, both teams are Aston Villas local rivals. Both teams are within a couple of miles of Villa park Should make next season interesting.

if west Brom had stayed up, then four Birmingham teams would be up next season, which would be very interesting.

Thanks. Never liked Birmingham City much...though I like Wolves' shirt color.

I hope Everton can do well next season, I remember that the season after we qualified to the UCL we started horribly, I feared we could be relegated, fortunately we improved in the second half of it.

I hope we can keep Arteta, Cahill and Fellaini

Thing is your club and my club are both in a lot of trouble because we finished 5th and 6th, but we came very close to champions league. I'm expecting a top 4 raid of Everton and Aston Villa players.

I get what you say, but the good thing is that we can expect lots of cash for them, which will mean that we can buy quality to replace. I mean, I'm not sure for how much we bought Fellaini, but if, say, Chelsea wants to sign him now, they'll have to pay a shitload of cash, and we'll have enough to sign a great replacement

To make things clear, I'm first and foremost a Boca Juniors fan here in Argentina, but in the Premier League my favourite team is Everton by far. Though I'd rather have a Boca win than an Everton win, that's for sure

Something you may find interesting, only 915 goals were scored this season. That is the lowest total in Premier League history making 2008-09 the lowest scoring Premier League season ever. Given the football on offer this season I am not surprised but also disappointed.

Im not really seeing anything with Shearer at the minute, but we have to stick with a manager for once. If Shearer leaves its gona make the club even more unstable.

The thing that really pissed me off today was the way we went down. There was no effort, no determination and the second half we didn't have a shot on target. We went out on a total wimper, and none of the players seemed like they gave a toss.

How about Wigan, they came up only a few years ago and they are big boys now. And look at stoke this season, amazing a new team of relative unknowns has done so well.

To be honest the premiership is as simple as this, if your not good enough you don't survive and I hate to say it but Newcastle just weren't good enough this season. Leeds deserve to be where they are, they played it risky by spending money they didn't have trying to get in champions league, didn't work out, got into A LOT debt, deserve to be where they are for making silly decision.

Let's hope Newcastle bounce back though.
