That will be the happiest day in my life. So who is looking forward to this great defining moment?
I believe within 2 years PS3 will have overtaken the XBox 360 in console sales. Just you all wait and see. PS3 has more room to drop the console price over the coming years, it has more exclusive games, greater storage capacities with Blu-Ray and a longer future due to Blu-Ray being the long lasting media format.
I am so looking forward to the PS3 total sales overtaking 360 total sales. Many people just like me will be celebrating when PS3 overtakes the 360 and some of us will be saying: "I told you so"
PS3 and following Sony is a religion to some, just like me.

I'm sorry to tell you, but I don't think the PS3 will ever overtake the 360.
PS3 has more room to drop the price, but will it matter? People looking for a cheap console already bought a 360 Arcade when it went below the $200. People looking for a cheap Blu-ray player could already get cheaper ones than the PS3 in 2007.
More exclusives? What exlusives to come could greatly affect console sales and be killer apps apart from GT5?
More storage? Even more? There's already an overkill of storage, there hasn't been a single PS3 game that needs two BRDs, and most games are multiplatform with DVD-size in mind anyway. It won't matter.
Longer lasting future due to Blu-ray? By the time 360 is dead, and PS3 would start its extra time, REALLY cheap stand-alone Blu-ray players will be available. Cheaper than the PS3. For the games, people won't bother either. Only a generation's market leader lives on after the start of a next generation, and the PS3 isn't the market leader. There is no 10-year plan because in the end consumers will choose which console lives. Oh, and the stores. When in 2012 the new Xbox will be available, and they need the shelve space to showcase the thing, what are they gonna do? They'll limit the worst selling console's space to a minimum. And PS3 has the bad luck of being the worst selling console in the most important market, the US.
PS3 might sell faster relative to the Xbox 360 with alligned launches, but it would simply too much time for the PS3 to overtake its antagonist.
But I do know how you feel. I know how it is to support the least selling console. I even know how it is to be a fanboy of the third-place console producer. At least I think you deserve a chance to be taken seriously with these ramblings.
