Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best and Worst review sites/magazines????

I just read the summaries on Metacritic and make my opinion from that. I'll occasionnaly read the complete reviews on IGN.

Best: Gametrailers
Worst: VGChartz (The majority of the reviews are very poorly written)

the worst ones are obviously Nintendo Power, OXM, and PS Magazine

kinda biased

the best is Edge

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I don't know about the others, but Nintendo Power is actually fairly harsh in their reviews.

Favorites: X-Play, GameTrailers, GameSpot, RPGFan, Edge and GameCritics.

I rarely disagree with them, and if they bash a them, they actually back up their views unlike one website who whines about the game throughout the entire review. For Edge, they are the only ones I can trust for PS3 games. They are extremely unbiased when it comes to PS3 games.

Worst: IGN. They overrate a lot of PS3 games, and they bash games without backing up their claims or providing good reasons.

Best two: IGN / OPM

Worst two: Edge / Eurogamer (I hate their rating systems)

Also I am not a fan of metacritic, the rating systems of some sites just completely drags the score down. We should just do-away with numbers and just read what they have to say, instead of giving the game a flashy score.

Edge, Eurogamer, IGN UK and Gametrailers are what I usually go by. I don't pay much attention to the scores, rather I read or watch the review closely and make my mind up based off of that.

I was just reminded of another I don't like: X-Play.

Generally IGN's reviews are the only ones to which i attach any kind of credence, Otherwise i tend to read a few of the highest and lowest reviews on Metacritic or Gamerankings if it's a game that i am unsure about.
