Forums - Sales Discussion - I figured out why the Wii didn't stop selling after all Marioboys bought it

"Therefore every Wii owner bought at least one Mario game. It's simple logic, really"

I stopped reading at this point. It's a completely inappropriate conclusion to draw, and a faulty application of logic to boot. By assuming that the fact that Mario game sales outnumbering Wii hardware sales automatically leads to the conclusion that each Wii owner owns at least one Wii game completely ignores the possibility that some Wii owners (or indeed a solid core of so-called Marioboys) will buy multiple Mario games. Given the significant number of individual Mario titles on the Wii, this point alone completely undermines your statement.

Bless. Keep on trying.

At first I was going to say this is the second best reply in this thread, but RubangB just bumped you down to 3rd best reply.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

my edited post answers that question. I realized i didn't answer it.

@megaman

like I said, kids in the future will think of wii sports and Miis not Mario. Therefore the nostalgia factor for Mario will be non-existant.

If you ignore 7.92 million people who got Galaxy, and the 18.6 million who got New Super Mario Brothers. I'm sure some of them were kids or will eventually be played by kids. And you know, Mario Kart..

What sold the Wii was Zelda and Wii Sports.

Galaxy is gaming bliss. Easily one of the best games of the generation. You could buy a Wii just to play Galaxy and it'd still be worth every dollar.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Saying this in a Rol thread? If you weren't a new user, I'd tell you to take your own advice.

Alas, I am unfamiliar with the terminology of 'a Rol' thread'. Presumably you are attempting to use a localised acronym against me in an attempt to look clever. Feel free to enlighten me as to your point and context. I do not doubt that in my relative inexperience, I have somehow missed the point.

Don't trust people with Kim Possible avatars!

Enjoyed the thread.

Where the hell did your avatar go? You in the middle of changing it?

That makes much more sense. In this case I retract my second post in this thread, and refer all attention to the initial effort...

Peer pressure? A bunch of adults who bought Wii Fit are pressuring others into buying Wii's?

If this discussion means that there is a certain social pressure about owning the Wii, then it makes sense. There is a reality though, that the Wii looks like it is fun to play. The likes of Wii Bowling and other games have that appeal.

Rol makes jokes. This is a joke topic. Al of those are joke topics.

I got that, thanks - hence the retraction of my comment that offered nothing in that regard. But I'm *OH* so pleased you decided to point it out to me again for the benefit of the entire forum. Let us henceforth use this thread only to reiterate my clear lack of understanding in this matter...

Hmm.. a hot bath.
