It will get no love from the hardcore since it has stylized graphics and does not have online capabilities. Excitebots fate :(

"You can play Need for Speed Nitro any way you want. Wii remote held sideways. Classic controller. GameCube controller. Nunchuk and Wii remote. Whatever. But EA demoed the game using a somewhat untested configuration that I found surprisingly fun. You simply hold the Wii remote normally, press A to accelerate and steer by twisting the controller left and right. If it sounds a bit clunky, let me assure you that it feels very good in practice because you only need to make subtle movements to get your cars screeching around corners. If you shake the Wii remote once, you'll trigger a nitro canister for a speed boost. Do it again and you'll get a double speed-boost. Meanwhile, you hold the B-Trigger to activate your handbrake and drift around corners while taping it and tiling the Wii remote ever so slightly. It works very well. In fact, I plugged a nunchuk in a few minutes and still scored a faster race time using EA's alternate method. "
don't have to use wiimote/chuck confirmed, sold!
I'm more of a sim guy, so I think I'll pass. Still, it looks to be one of the better arcade racers.
No online, no sale, sorry guys, even though it looks amazing and the impressions sure are good. I'll be waiting for a price drop.

Yep. I prefer local multiplayer to online anyway. Both is the best though.
