Trophies - just because i started collecting on ps3
But i like those little shine satisfing medals more than just plain numbers

But.... I like achievements more because: Every Single 360 Games has them. I don't have to wait for my 360 to sync up with a server to see my achievements. When I get an achievement I can quickly see what I got the Achievement for, no scrolling, just push button & view. Achievements feel like a solid part of the system, as trophies seems like an added mod of some kind. Trophies are still buggy, I Do Not own StarDust but yet it still shows on my trophy list as 0% Trophies ever sense i got the demo, and will not leave my trophy list.. |
1. Did the launch titles have achievements?
2. You don't have to sync Trophies either unless you want to compare Trophies...
3. This isn't a bug. They purposely have it this way so you can see what trophies are available for the full version. It is more of a way for them to push you to buy the game.
The nice thing is, now every game from here on out will have them. Ths makes me very excited because now I can get 2 Platinums for Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Wootaru!
I think it really depends on what system you started using first. So, for me, it's trophies.
However, I'm a cheap arse, and so the only time I get to play my 360 on gold is when I create a new silver membership (free gold for a month)... making it harder for me to get "attached" to my achievements.
I have one permenant account, but I can only play that offline, so I'm not entitled to all the achievements.
Unless anyone wants to give me any of their codes..... yeah, I guessed not.

i have a lot of ps3 games that dont support trophies, and i payed 60 bucks for everyone one of them.
GRAW2, MGS4, Virtua Fighter 5, Assasins Creed. Ratchet and Clank TOD..
I don't prefer one to the other. But Platinum > 1000 GS and the tiered system is a little deeper than just numbers. Whereas achievements are in every 360 game and are slightly quicker to view when in a game.
it would be nice if there could a universal system that could work on both consoles.
PS3 = 122 games with Trophies
360 = 802 games with Achievements
I choose 360 but I do like the Platinum Trophy

1) Yes
2) My trophies sync whether I'm comparing or not.
3) Regardless it bugs me that it's there and it will show people like myself that it's a bug in the system, not a way of advertising.
