Forums - General Discussion - Manchester United Premier League Champions 2008/09

He only ever scored 1 goal out of the box. Amazing. He was a quality player. Best Strikers of the last 5 years =

1.) Henry
2.) VanNistelrooy
3.) Drogba
4.) Rooney
5.) Torres

Van Nistelrooy was immense. He was always in the right place at the right time. Goalhanging bugger! lol

A well deserved win.

I kind of wish it was as down to the wire as it was last season (or the season before that, can't remember).

With Cristiano Ronaldo set to stay at old trafford, seems like Man U will still be a force next year, even without Tevez. Without Ronaldo earlier this season, Man U struggled.

I think Benitez will be gone next year if Liverpool don't win the premier league (they have a good enough side), but if he manages to sign a decent winger, Liverpool will be a very strong contender (even in gerrard-free games).

Hopefully Chelsea will inject some youth at the end of the season, 1 year of pain (better than 4 years with arsenal) would be worth it to create a dominant club for 5 years.

I don't know why Rafa wasnt interested in the Real Madrid job. They need a manager and Rafa wants full control over transfers. Thats a perfect place for him, in his homeland.

Chelsea need a major clean out. Drogba, Ballack Malouda, Deco,Quaresma, Alex, BELLETI, Anelka all need to go. Chelsea need something new.

Who do you think will get relegated?
(Played, Wins, Draw, Loses, Points)

16. Sunderland 37 9 9 19 36
17. Hull City 37 8 11 18 35
18. Newcastle 37 7 13 17 34
19. Middlesbrough 37 7 11 19 32
20. WBA 37 8 7 22 31

Last day fixtures:

Aston Villa Vs Newcastle
Sunderland Vs Chelsea
Hull Vs Man Utd
West Ham vs Borough

Newcastle would be very lucky to get even a point with Villa. Villa will want to finish with a win and try to get 5th as compensation for not getting 4th spot.
Chelsea will most likely rest their main guys for the FA Cup final, so Sunderland playing at home have a very good chance with at least getting a draw if they dont make any stupid defensive errors.
Man Utd will want to rest their players also for the CL final. They will play their young ones, but these guys are tough to beat also. Hull for a point.

Zola was pissed at his sides loss to Everton and said after that he would get tough with them from now on. West Ham will play their reserves and Borough have to get dirty to win this one. Rememebr Borough Beat West Ham in teh FA Cup when the hammers were at home

If all my predictions are right, Newcastle, Hull and West Brom will be drinking Coca Cola next year.

I am hoping for Middlesborough to stay up. This is my first thread to exceed 100 posts and the first to have 2 pages (if you view 100 posts per page ofc). I am pleased.
