no it won't, the worst that will happen is some one will see the box, kick it once, shoot it a few times, and walk away, you'll be fine

They're all overrated apart from that one game - Twin Snakes I think it was called? That was really really good! It was on the Gamecube, you see, not a Sony console.

The rest were a pile of rubbish.

Note: some people prefer the 'bad story' even if they recognise it as such.

I thought MGS4 story was awesome personally, but I can understand where the critics are coming from.

Is it overrated? Depends on if you enjoy the game or not. And for some people it probably was.

MGS isn't overrated. No way. It deserves the hype 100%.

Most definitely not. MGS was the first in a line of games that proved games do not HAVE to be fun. They can be mind expanding, they can be serious. It is one of the most important evolutions this industry has ever had.

^100% True.
Although MGS is still fun. In certain ways. Boss fights are always "teh epicness"

Certainly MGS is fun. But it was the first game to prove that a game doesn't necessarily have to be such, it can rely on the strength of it's narrative, it's message to sell well as well. Braid took this and ran with it, and The Path which many reviewers have been calling non-fun yet slapping good scores upon it is really capitalizing upon that idea now.
