Mr.Wibbly, I think you're naive. "Massive repercussions" sounds like a lot of FUD.

What does FUD stand for? I understand the general meaning of it from reading the forums, but what does it stand for? I think I know the F 8)

I think the Wii 2 may come even earlier. Perhaps Chistmas 2010 maybe in 2011. The Wii 2 be slightly more powerful than the PS3, will have average storage storage capacity (with ability to upgrade), will possibly have an incorporated HD DVD player, and will be more capable of processing Wii motion than the current Wii. It will be sold for $299 dollars, and will be sold alongside the Wii (which will be sold at $129). The new Wii will definitely be able to play Wii games, but possibly not Gamecube games, which will be sold on the virtual console of the new Wii. Many Wii games will eventually also be sold on the new Wii virtual console virtually excluding retailers in the new marketing mix. The Wii will sell well, better than the new Wii (which incidentally is called the Us2) for the first year, but then the Us2 will take off, as it on its own will be the next generation console. Microsoft and Sony will not be able to launch new consoles for another couple of years due to cost recovery. And hence starts an era where all next gen consoles are not launched simultaneously, but spread out with a two year gap between them.
