Ringwide -- along with Ringedge -- are Sega's new 2009 era arcade board/CPU units.
There was speculation when the names were trademarked about Sega re-entering the console market. But it seems to have stopped when it formally announced these as arcade units in February.

I am Mario. I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

The only way that this would happen is if one of the competitors drops out or helps Sega. What could happen is Sega makes the hardware, Microsoft makes the OS and it runs on Xbox Live. Sega has always had good hardware and people won't hesitate to buy it.
