When is soon?

If they're hyping it there probably won't be word of what it actually is until E3.

E3's about three weeks away, right? I guess that qualifies as "soon," but I can't imagine that Nintendo would give this one game its own press conference and then risk it getting lost in the shuffle with an embargo that doesn't lift until hundreds of news peices flood in at once.

I think we'll hear about it by the end of next week, certainly by the end of the month.

Nintendo usually allows the print mags a few days in advance access to their secret games. So I assume we won't hear about the game for at least 2 more weeks. That way print mags and online sites can get the word out at the same time.

I don't know...that seems completely out of Nintendo's style to announce a game weeks before E3.

Then again there was the Pikmin 3 teaser in that one magazine...I can see them doing an initial, controlled announcement before E3 and then using the conference to blow the lid off of the game. But E3 is so close that it just feels wrong for them to be talking about anything now. This is the exact time where I expect dead silence from Nintendo.

Good points, both of you. I hadn't considered the print magazine angle in particular...maybe y'all are right.

That would suck.
