you want 9, 10, or 12 (XII not X-II).

i really liked 9 and 10. i didnt like 12. all three are different and unique. 12 is generally considered outside of "Final Fantasy" because it isnt like the others. 9 is the ultimate final fantasy. 10 is good and still has the final fantasy feel.

i personally recommend purchasing 9. then 10. if you havent liked either, then pick up 12.

It's a good game, I agree. I don't think it's a good start. The game is much more difficult than most RPGs nowadays.

This decision is really hard everyone is leaning me towards a different game.First off guys I am looking for a portable one more than a console.I don´t own a ps1 so games I won´t get games like VII or the ps1 FF.In addition I briefly played XII at my friends house and I was not that impress I am looking more for the older games.Also it has to be portable and a good start nothing extremely hard.

If you want a portable that isn't extremely hard then get FFVI on the GBA. It's arguably the best in the series and a lot more forgiving in terms of difficulty.

FFVI on the GBA is the only choice.

I have just come off playing FFVIII (seems unfavoured here!) and I think you should definitely take a look at FFIV or perhaps VII for a starting point. My favourite personally is VIII but hey each to their own Final Fantasy!

If you have a PS2 I'd go with FFX, that's what I'm currently playing and I love it. If you don't go with VI.

get FF3 for the ds it would be a good start i don't know why people didn't liked it in my opinion it was very good. That or FF4 DS

No contest. The story is beyond, and the graphics aren't dated.

VIII is great also, but X is unmatched.

That narrows down pretty much most of your choices then. FFVI.
Though, if you really want something you have to put some effort into getting it instead of just settling for the next best thing. It all depends on you and how far you're willing to go for what you desire.
