VI is considered by many to be one of the best RPG's of all time.

In my opinion, the FF that you need to begin for, is FFVII. Look... i can't give not even a 8.0 for this game (because has a loooot of things that i don't like in this game), but it has the essence of FF that you have to feel. Other great final fantasy is Final fantasy VI, this game has a great storyline, a great villain and i give a 9.5 for this game, even having the graphics of the snes, this is the best Final fantasy in my opinion, but remember.... FFVII is not my favorite, but is the game that I recommend you to begin.

FF4 is crap? Super fail. You got a DS? FF 4 is the best game on DS. Great sotry, grat music, timeless classic with a good transition to 3d.

Also don't play FF 6 on GBA the music is gimped. And don't get it for PS either the loading ruins it. I just picked up FF 12 and it is Solid so far.

FF6/7/4 are easily the best in the series. Everything else doesn't have the magic. Is FF3 available in the Wii store? I don't have my Wii hooked up to the net so I don't know. FF3 for supernintendo is actually FF6.

It's alright. I'd recommend FF9 and FF10 a thousand times over FF6.

You'll probably really enjoy FF6 though, and you'll appreiciate the many advances the series has made when you play the later games in the series.

I haven't played FFVI yet, but so far my fondest memory of a Final Fantasy game is that of IX.
It's an long, epic( and I know this term gets thrown out a lot), mostly lighthearted(but gets dark at the right moments), adventure and (given your choice in shows and from the vibe I get from you personality wise) I honestly think it would fit you really well.

To put it into perspective, I personally think Suikoden II is the best RPG I've ever played, and I would be fine if it was the best RPG I will ever play in my short life, but I would still recommend FF IX to you if given a choice between the two.

FFIX,FFVII,FFX,FFXII,FFIV and FFVI avoid FFVIII

Get FFIV for the DS. I started the series with the SNES version. The game is sublime.

It's a good game, I agree. I don't think it's a good start. The game is much more difficult than most RPGs nowadays.

4,6, or 7 take your pick but I say wait for 6 on the virtual console or DS.

My highest recomendation goes to 4 on DS at this time.


FF6 is the greatest RPG ever made to nuts mentioning 10 or whatever.

You realize they only announced the first FF to VC. I'm sure the other ones will come later, but still.

And not everyone agrees with you, and I don't call you nuts for making a suggestion I would never give.
