Forums - Gaming Discussion - What gaming company will release the first eighth generation console?

I'm betting Microsoft will. They always try to make it first to the market. Possibly Sony. And Nintendo always seems to release their consoles last. So what do you think?

in the unlikely event of the ps3 outselling the 360 they might jump ship ala original x-box but I don't see that happening.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Nintendo.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

If wii hd comes out and is lets say equal to 360/PSD3 capabilities.

would you call that next gen starting ? cause i would not.

I'm pretty sure it would be Microsoft. Their system has been out there for a while now and they have a good amount of hardware updates that can be added on (like built in wifi)

what about motion controls for the 360? I guess u have a point but when is a new generation started? When 2 competititors significantly promote and launch a new system alongside new improvements (in any way) and obviously new standards of games. Ps2 is still selling so its nothing to do with the death of its former console.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Nintendo for sure I think, followed closely by MS.
