Forums - PC Discussion - Good PC temp. monitoring tools?

I've been looking for a good FREE temperature monitoring tool. I'm running a stock heatsink/fan on my CPU and an ATI HD 4830 video card, which run notoriously hot.

It's about summer time and I live int he middle of the desert, so summer time can be a pretty harsh time for computers.

I heard Everest was good, and it was, but I'm not willing to pay for it as I'm cheap and broke. :P

Speedfan is a pretty good tool, though it doesn't pick up my graphics card for some reason.

Thank you for the responses, however.

I found a tool called HWMonitor by CPUID, the same people who made CPU-Z.

Works pretty well, but it doesn't dock in the taskbar, which I can live with, I guess.

Running Crysis on high settings, my video card maxed out at about 60 Celsius, which is quite a bit better performance than I thought it would give.

Try Riva Tuner.

It's mostly very advanced overclocking tool for GPUs but it has core and memory tempratures monitoring as one of it's functions.

For CPU you can use Coretemp

PROUD MEMBER OF THE PSP RPG FAN CLUB

ATI has a free tuner you can get from thier website. Will atleast monitor your cards temp.

Finally somebody else that doesn´t use Vista.

Do mother board manufacturers no longer include temp monitoring software? All the ones I bought had it in the BIOS settings.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
