PS3 fanboys will say KZ2.
360 fanboys will say Halo 3.
People who judge on quality will say KZ2.

LOL!!  Thats why Halo 3 remains the most played multiplayer game on the 360 to date..after 2 years of being out.

Do you know what KZ2 will be like in 2 years??  A past dream...it won't be remembered as anything more than a good FPS that didn't innovate or bring a whole lot to the table

Let me know when KZ2 sells 10 million.  or when KZ2 has about 1 million unique users a day ok??

I could never get into Halo 3 or any Halo at all. Maybe that's why I'm not a big Xbox fan.

For people who have elite skills at FPS games, which I lack, Halo is probably better as Killzone would be frustrating. Killzone is great if you want people on even ground because of the weight of the controls. I've been finding out that many of my jRPG fan friends are really liking KZ2. That's probably why its doing better in Japan than many shooters.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. Doing better in Japan than what?

First week in japan

Halo 3 62,000
COD4 59,000 (ps3 plus 360 - 32000 ps3)
Killzone2 42,000

We'll have to see the legs.  I think KZ2 will edge out Halo 3 in LTD sales.  The number of people that play FPS games in Japan can be compared to the number that play Cel-shaded jRPGs in America - percentages adjusted.

You're being a little more disingenuous than I expect Kowenicki: comparing week 1 KZ2 to a multiplat long running IP (which you were honourable to show that KZ2 beat COD4 on it's own system), and a major IP for those who are Xbox(360) fans with an extremely top heavy sales curve (62K debut 114K LTD). Compare KZ2 to R2 in Japan and KZ2 had a very good debut. Compare it to R1 and it had an excellent debut. And if you go over to the Japan week 18 thread you will see that KZ2's drop off in Japan is no where near Halo 3's week 2 drop.

KZ2 is never going to be a Halo killer world wide or even in others, but it will bloody it's nose in Japan. I'd be surprised if KZ2 wasn't ahead of Halo 3's sales curve by about week 3 or 4.

Halo and CoD are actually pretty easy (dont know about Killzone tho cause i dont own it) but for " Elite skills at FPS games" people i say Resistance.

Depends what kind of FPS game you're after.

If its for pure fun factor ... go Halo.
If its for more tactical action... go Killzone.

If you want the best FPS experience overall... go CoD4.

why not get them both. they are completely different approaches to fps's.

i personally thought halo was too old school in the way it played. it plays like a slower unreal tournament with bigger levels and dumber weapons. my wife likes the hairy weapon as she calls it, but then she stabbed herself in the face with her thumb, so take that for what it's worth.

kz is a totally different experience. i've never played a game like it.

W. T. F.

The only potential weapon that I can think of right now that could match that eloquent description is the Needler. The "Hairs," would then be pink, razor sharp needles... Slow-firing, mild tracking abilities, however; you only need to strike the opponent with seven needles to instantly kill them. This could be the justification for the weapon preference.

thanks.   yeah i know what the weapon is.  my wife just prefers a....gestalt manner of description.  and she likes it cuz it's cute.  you're not thinking enough like a woman to get it.  i don't really get it either.

but about the weapons, i played the mp on all three halos, and i had to be told which one i was playing they were so similar.  there are way too many weapons that when you get you're like, "ok this looks like it should be good"  and then it's crap.

killzone has way fewer weapons, but they are almost all super fun to use.  i've unlocked almost all of them for the mp, but i still prefer the m82 machine gun...it kicks ass.

art is the excrement of culture

i'm reading all this comparison and debate, and it is shocking how many people just don't get either game.

halo is sort of the epitome of the classic pc shooter. it has tons of options, lots of weapons, a mp that is designed to be basically the pc gamers wet dream, and online and offline coop.

the gameplay of halo is designed to give pc shooter fans exactly what they are used to. the massive jumping, precision aiming, and strafe firing are all hallmarks of the pc shooter that halo makes use of. halo simply takes the pc shooter and crams more stuff in it than ever before.

kz2 is nothing like that. it is a hard as nails immersive shooter. putting tons of bells and whistles on it just doesn't seem in line with the theme of graphic realism. a needler would take away from that...a little bit.

when seen in their proper spheres i don't think there is any need to be a retarded fanboy about either game. depending on which style of shooter you prefer will determine what shooter you will think is better.

i was never a pc gamer, and i think realistic immersion is the most exciting and fun thing ever in shooters, so i prefer kz2.

and when people say kz2 brought no innovation to the genre, they are really just revealing their ignorance of the game and treating it like it should be a pc shooter.

Get the one that isn't on the WORST SYSTEM EVAR IT BROKE ON ME FOUR TIMES BAWWWWW.

And be a little more subtle with your next flamebait thread, IMO.
