My brother and I recently became addicted to this app on facebook called farm town, and now we really feel like playing some sort of RPG game.

Can anyone tell me which of these you think is best and why? I cant decide on which one to get.

- Rune Factroy: Frontier

- Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility

- Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

Or maybe point me in the direction of a new game similar to these that I have missed.

If you're going to play ToS, play the first ToS that's on the Gamecube. ToS: Dawn of the New World is a direct sequel.

I haven't played the other two, so I can't judge those, but ToS should be an amazing game. My friend is extremely addicted to Tales games (especially Symphonia) and he's put hundreds of hours into that game.

There is one thing I'd like to point out, ToS is going to be extremely different from the other two games, at least Harvest Moon. I'm not entirely sure what Rune Factory is like, but Harvest Moon is about as close to ToS as the Legend of Zelda is to Mario.

By just that I would say you would like the Harvest Moon/Rune Factory games.

I didnt like Rune Factory at all. Only put the game in twice. Buy like I said its called farm town so Im guessing you farm and manage resources and shit. Rune Factory is just that so you might like it

Harvest Moon ToT Ive never played but so far I have never heard one good think about it

Tales:DotNW is by far the best game but its straght up RPG no farming or anything like that. Tales is my fav out of that list but it sounds like you would like Rune Factory.

I actually own 2/3 of those games so yea Im not just talking out of my ass

I haven't played Dawn of the New World, but based on my experiences with the first one and an understanding that it's acknowledged as being intrinsically inferior to its predecessor...

Pick up Rune Factory Frontier. I'd probably recommend Harvest Moon: Magical Melody before that, but of those three listed I'm gonna recommend Rune Factory.

So rune factory does have a nice amount of farming? Im only shying from harvest moon as rune factory looks like it has more to do in terms of fighting and what not opposed to just farming.

As for tales, id really like to try this game, but from some of the post here so far, I dont think id follow the story very well...

I actually did try Harvest Moon: magical melody and I quite liked it. I just wanna see some opinions on whats good and why, as maybe ill like ToS or Rune Factory a little more than Harvest.  

On a side note I played harvest magical melody for like 8 hours straight on the Wii but for some reason it didnt save. Left a sour taste in my mouth! This was proably a month into owning my wii, which would have been a few years ago.

This may be a stupid question, but did you have a Gamecube memory card? You need one to save Gamecube game files! Also it has to be in Slot A, rather than Slot B.

Honestly, if we were talking about the original ToS, Rune Factory Frontier, and Magical Melody? I'd probably recommend Frontier, still, but only because of the combat. I would recommend it above the others without hesitation if it weren't for the Runey system. If you can get Runeys to work for you, then Rune Factory is wonderful. Otherwise, you might like Harvest Moon more, but I hear Tree of Tranquility is pretty bad as far as Harvest Moon games go.

Tales of Symphonia gets a lot of love on this site, but I don't think it's up to par with the other two games mentioned - and it doesn't have any farming, so that's another problem.
