Forums - Gaming Discussion - I find it disgraceful which console a game is on affects the opinions of it

Good thread, that's pretty much all I've got to say. I totally agree.

Around the Network

Ghostbusters was generally looked at as a potentially real good title, that people were eager to get ahold of.  But, now it looks like (at least in Europe) it is at least a time exclusive for the PS3, out of the woodwork comes, "Well, what do you expect from a movie title?  It is goint to suck".  And NOW piled on bashing of how it is going to suck.  EXCUSE ME!

Find me links of all these threads praising how great this game would be then.  I've never been interested in the game so I would like to know why it's suddenly become a AAA title.  I do highlight that this is a game thats struggled to get a publisher throughout its entire development and has been considered vapourware at times.  Apart from the original Ghostbusters cast being involved the game doesn't have masterpiece labelled across it.  This isn't bashing because its an exclusive, it's just many people like myself really weren't excited about this game but choose not to lambast a game we're not interested in.  We then get fanboys declaring it awesome as a timed exclusive and you wonder why people would come out and say it will suck anyway.

I didn't post in the thread that sparked you to create this by the way as I didn't think my input was needed.  I have no interest in buying the game so there was really no need for me to bother reading through the drivel to find any interesting debate.

This problem you speak of is not a game related problem. It is a problem faced by every industry, every religion, every country, and every ethnic group. The problem is the human race. The drive to be better than everyone else. The desire to be in complete conrtol. The inablility to see anything from a perspective but our own.

Man has fought over power as far back as our history shows. People always fighting for their beliefs, and never getting anywhere. Refusing to aknowledge history, and continuing to battle a fight that has no end.

So the above is the story of mankind to this point.

Now I am not going to try to solve the whole puzzle at once. I am just going to give some clues to how we can fix some of the very simple equations. First lets start with choice, when we allow for choice, we open up the door to opinion. When choice, and opinion can be turned into something that has effect on other people it becomes an issue. Where an issue is present a war of some form is going to occur, because someones choice is not going to survive unless they fight for it.

The simple answer is to grow up and eleminate choice. Now somewhere along the line some sort of propaganda got people believeing that working together torwards a common goal is a evil idea. In turn we formed empires that round up the best talent , and keep all the knowlegde in that talent to themselves. Thus we end up with Sony, Nintedno, and Microsoft (in the game industry).

As I said before, humanity refuses to aknowledge history. I just said the simple answer is to eliminate choice. Everyone knows that is true, but how do we go about doing it. Obviously war is the only answer, correct? Wrong, have you been paying attiontion to the last 5000 years? Have you payed attention to the start of this post?

Now, I can understand some of the issues faced in the past. The ability to communicate is easly the largest. In todays world however, communication is extreamly simple. The issue now is not the ability to recive communication, but to activly address it. This is were the people in positions of power need to be responsible. Sadley that is not the case a high percentage of the time.

Anyways, this is getting to deep so I will wrap it up here. The game indusrty needs to come together, and end the war. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo need to move first, but everyone else must follow. A committee needs to be formed that has representatives from every major group interested in games. The commity must allow roolm for people that have the ability to be the voice of hardware, the vioce of software development, and most importantly the voice of the community interested in games.

If gamers can set the example, perhapps we can lead humanity to a bright future. Or everyone can continue to fight. Just know, the fight will never end. A victor will never emerge, and potential will forever be wasted until we unite.

I actually had not heard of ghostbusters game before this.

   Well basically, OP is right.

But .. first of all vgchartz is one of the few forums where this shit doesnt happen too much. (spend a day or two at gametrailers.com or ps3forums.com)

Secondly .. it's anyway only applies to the internet. Outside of internet communities people are mostly unaware/dont care if a game is exclusive to their system or not, and it anyway doesnt affect their level of interest in it.

Too many fanboys this gen, that is the problam.

Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!

Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.

TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.

MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD

hmm, I have seen notes about the ghost busters game, and i guess it has promise, but i haven't been hooping it up on the forums or any where, waiting for the demo...... also the trailers for FFXIII made me want it less.. though i am a 360 gamer mainly this gen..... I am jealous of valkyrie chronicles though .... and as for my feelings over MGS4 ... over rated Halo 3..... weakest of the series ....... GTA4 have nothing to compare it too first GTA... though I did like the first DRIVER better....

as for the wii it did not live up to what i felt nintendo promised me 1 to motion, maybe the motion plus will fix that, but for now my little sister seems to enjoy it more then me so i let her have it... I liked the idea of a few wii games but would have preferred normal controller controls... dont really care about the looks unless it interferes with game play

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

What is the status of the Wii/360 US releases of the game? I had heard that it was delayed and then I had heard that it wasn't.

I've no shame on admitting that two of the best games this gen are X360 exclusives (Gears 2 and Fable 2), even hating the console with a burning passion. I don't see why anyone else should (be ashamed, that is).
