In a shock move, Sony has negotiated a deal with Atari to publish the upcoming Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The game will be released in Europe and PAL regions on June 19 for PS3 and PS2. A PSP version will follow in the autumn.

“We’re committed to bringing the PlayStation family the biggest and best gaming experiences first,” says Mark Hardy, European Product Marketing Director at SCEE, “and it doesn’t get any bigger and better than this blockbuster title. This summer, PlayStation owners will be the first to grab their proton packs and fight the spirit world. We’d like to wish them the best of luck in their ghostbusting endeavours and, of course, to remind them not to cross the streams!”

WOW?.....I wish I could be amazed, but I'm not, because it's Ghostbusters and I grew out of that as a child.

@ non-gravity: I'm not angry at all, I don't play games as much as I used to, and I'm only focused on certain games that catch my attention. Most kids these days don't even know what Ghostbusters was. They missed the golden age of childrens cartoons.

If I am reading this correctly, this just applies to PAL territories.

I wonder if Atari sold that for some quick cash -- given its financial situation.

Ghostbusters should help boost PS3 and PSP sales. Ghostbusters is exclusive to Sony.
