Forums - Website Topics - Post Suggestion

I'm just curious if there's ever been a discussion concerning adding a 'Last edited by Phrancheyez on 5/5/09 @ 8:15 AM'-type of tag to the bottom of posts?  This is the first forum I've ever frequented where something like that wasn't done.  Sometimes, knowing a post was edited can change a whole argument.  I don't like how (I think it's) NeoGaf does where they put in the 'edited' line for every single time it's edited, but just a 'last edited by' line with the time would be nice.

Ever been suggested and/or shot down?  Most forums, you can edit a post immediately after you post it and it still won't display the edited by line, I'm sure it's a timing thing.  Does anyone agree or disagree?

I don´t know if this might be the reason. But unlike Neo Gaf, Vgchartz is much more than a forum it has other features that are as relevant that could be the reason why those kinds of rules are not enforce here unlike a site that is just a forum.

@ctk495

It has other features, but what keeps this site going is the forums. Not to take away from the numbers, news articles or game reviews..but VGC wouldn't be VGC if it didn't have forums for us to discuss these things.

I don't think that would be the reason, but who knows? You might be right.

I dont see it as much of a change. Most people put EDIT in their post if they make a change anyway

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Yeah, a lot of people do..it's not a major issue, like a make-or-break feature.  People won't flock to this site if it were added, just as many people here wouldn't rejoice and throw a keg party either.  But I know I'd appreciate the feature, as small as it is.

*edit*(lol)
I might throw a keg party over it, just as an excuse to do it..I could use a beer..mm..

most of the time i only edit if i got something way off. and if i do i usually cross it out

aaaaaaaaaaaaa

and i usually put edit on bottom

It's kinda unneccesary on this forum, because of the overuse of Quotes.
And once quoted, you can't edit it. Your original statment will always remain.

Edit statements are a waste of time.

I generally edit a post several times after posting. All they would do is just make my posts take up more space.

You must not have read everything I said..unless you think 1 extra line is too much, then I don't even know how to argue with someone who has that mindset...

I think one line in every post when you have 50 or 100 posts per page is a lot of space.  Also, in many forums it's actually 2 lines.  A blank separating one comes before the edit line.
