Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What's ur favorite Rail Shooter on the Wii?

So I had a bunch of friends come over during the weekend & I rented Target Terror & Ghost Squad.  They were great party games & we had a blast.

I have also played Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles last year at my friend's house.  The game is much longer than Target Terror or Ghost Squad.  I had to go over to my friend's place a couple times before we actually beat it, but we both found it kinda boring.  I takes too many hits to kill the zombies & gets kinda boring & those quick time events where u press a button or waggle are kinda tacky as well.

As for Target Terror & Ghost Squad, they are more about quick precision shooting & there are a lot of lulz to be had in both games.  Target Terror is three times as long as Ghost Squad, includes mini games, & has various weapons.  For these reasons, I would have to say I enjoyed Target Terror better out of the two, & that RE: UC is only average.

Anyways, which rail shooter do u guys like the best on the Wii?

I loved Umbrella chronicles for some reason, and enjoyed Ghost squad and Link's crossbow training just as much.

sin and punishment if that doesn't count then i have no favorite until sin and punishment 2

The House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return. The arcadeness and professional quality combined made for a really good pair of games, and the awful voice acting is entertaining in itself.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

HOTD overkill - it is an amazing game that i've completed twice and am two thirds of my way through the directors cut.

Will start playing this again when i'm done with Little King Story.

RE UC and HoTD Overkill are both brilliant in their own ways.

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

I'm annoyed at Target: Terror's choppy framerate and disappearing sprites, so I can't quite give it the thumbs up. I was hoping for a faithful port of the arcade game, but Konami didn't polish it enough. It would be damn fun without the glitches.

My only other rail shooter so far is RE:UC, and I'm going to go with it because its framerate issues are less pronounced, and for having more content, collectibles, bosses, and strategic gameplay.

All these rail shooters look like small potatoes compared to upcoming Dead Space, Darkside Chronicles, and Sin & Punishment 2. All three look like they're going to take rail shooters way past what the arcade has to offer.

I only played RE:UC and HotD 2&3 (well Ghost Squad on arcades, but I'm gonna leave this one out atm)
While both are fun, I prefer the fast-paced arcadeness of HotD 2&3.
UC is fun, but sometimes slow and annoying.

Ofc, I have yet to play any of them alone for more than 30minutes (first time to try it).

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

I liked UC a lot... I don't mind the "hard to kill" ennemies,

I like Ghost Squad, though I'm finding it a bit short... even with extra paths it gets too repetitive.

Haven't played the others but my next one will be either HotD or the next RE.
