Nomura talks Versus XIII, visuals may come close to FFVII: AC

Forums - Sony Discussion - Nomura talks Versus XIII, visuals may come close to FFVII: AC

In an interview with Famitsu, Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura revealed new information about Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

According to Nomura, many of the rendering and shading tools used in the development of FF Versus XIII were used to polish Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. The film's team wanted to use more advanced techniques and tools than those available when the film was first produced, and Versus XIII's tech met the team's standards. Now this may be a stretch, but it's as if Nomura is hinting that the quality of visuals behind Final Fantasy Versus XIII may come close to replicating certain aspects of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Nomura also stated that Roen, the company behind the character costume designs for Versus XIII, has completed work on the costumes of the main character and his allies. Apparently, recreating the clothing designs in the game was difficult due to the extreme detail required.

Hopefully we'll see more of Versus XIII along with FFXIII and Agito XIII at this year's E3.

Style maybe, but definitely not quality unless they are talking about pre-rendered cut scenes.

Nice to see some one at SE pushing hard for high quality.

oh that's why it is not coming to the 360........................................lol

@RED53DEVILS

Exactly were I was about to go.

Can not wait to see this game. Between this and Heavy Rain, I don't see how people will be able to ignor the importance of Blu-ray, and the proper time to take full advantage of it. This is a huge reason why I am 100% against seeing next gen consoles in 2011 or 12. It takes 4 - 6 years to make games that are pushing both the 360 and PS3. Developers don't need more power, they just need more time to polish games to greatness, and the confedince that consumers will pay for that commetment.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

That's cool but it's really hard to get excited by game I'll be waiting till 2011-2012 before playing :)

PROUD MEMBER OF THE PSP RPG FAN CLUB

it will be release in 2010-2011.

not later than that

Seems like confirmed PS3 exclusive then
I highly doubt the 360 could handle this.

Anyway, best looking game ever?

Agree. Plus what kind of a system would be needed to push out games that look better then these? A very expensive one with a pricetag that would make the PS3 look cheap.

Cue PC gamers with toms hardware quotes.
