Whatever category Super Smash Bros. is in.

Traditional Fighters: 0
Non-traditional Fighters: 0

The only non-traditional fighter you listed was Naruto. The rest of them are traditional fighters.

Non-traditional fighters include:

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm

DBZ: Tenkaichi

Super Smash Bros

Traditional because I will play one of those for 5-7 years.

I think Melee is the only non traditional one with that type of lasting power.

Shouldn't it be, Traditional fighters vs Arena fighters?

Because isn't that essentially what the fighting Naruto games, DBZ (Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi), Smash Bros and co are?

Well either way, I pick Traditional long term and arena short term. Arena is much quicker to pick up and have fun with, where as the traditional is much more satisfying when you get really good. (also, VF is traditional, and that along with SF are my favourite fighting franchises).

non-traditional. Traditional fighters suck all the fun out of everything.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I watched the videos. I've played the games themselves. I still don't understand what is so vastly different about Melty Blood and Arcana Hearts to put them in a different category from Street Fighter. Also why would Tekken and SFIV be in the same category? Talk about two vastly different games.

Can you just explain in words what elements the games need to have to end up in each category? I'm sure your point will get across much easier that way.

Ahhh don't get pissed because you don't like games that demand some sort of skill games. Non-traditional fighters are serious button mashers. Traditional is fun for moderates and advanced fighter fans win or lose, because they like the challenge.

I was just gonna say brawlers is a crap reason to keep brawl off the list, then i read the 2nd reason :p

in that case i'll go with traditional because of soul calibur. Aside from soul calibur's existence, the traditional fighting genre is crap imo because it limits you too much in the way you space yourself.

Its actually the other way around. Traditional fighters have a lower skill difference because of the limit to set combos and auto-lock. Whereas a game like melee or brawl have things thrown in that effect gameplay such as: use of staging (what shape the ledges are can affect your gameplay and amount of platforms), spacing, DI reading (are they going to go left or right?) and the free ability to make combos yourself without there being set in stone ones.

My favorite fighter was the Bushido Blade series b4 Master of bushido... i hate fighters with lifebars especially the ones with weapons.... an axe to the face =/= 1/4 of life... i can deal with brawlers like SF4 though. < in my mind i consider any fist fighting game a brawler :X

Edit Thats a bit of a strange thing that fighters w/ lifebars are considered traditional and more realistic (fighter sim if you will) are considered non traditional...
