Forums - Nintendo Discussion - ONM: MotionPlus with Red Steel 2 works VERY, VERY well

"Ubisoft wants to make game progression as non-linear as possible, but is also very insistent that Red Steel 2 is not an open world game. Many of the stages are closed-off affairs offering little escape from the action, which keeps the temp up. There are different paths to take along the way, and you'll move on through the game via several different hub worlds, each more challenging than the last."

"So it's a very different game from the first Red Steel, that's for sure. Using the Nunchuck to move, you can still point at the screen and press B to shoot, but it is clear that gunplay won't be the main attraction."

"There are side quests to complete, collectables, combos, Finish Kills and other moves to learn too."

Yeah that was pretty much what the Wii Sports Resort fencing videos were showing. Pretty much 1-to-1 replication of the Wiimote's movement, and with no significant lag as far as I could see.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

this is beginning to sound awesome, then again I was a fan of the last game

So there is IR pointing for shooting...so how're they going to take the emphasis off shooting? Less bullets?

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

The main guy should dual wield swords then?

Less bullets would be nice

probably like they did in the first game - they'll just take your gun away for sword fighting scenes.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.
