I hope you finished the Director's Cut before making this thread.

Not only that, the in game achievement would take even more time.

Wow, good thing you didn't play games during the NES and SNES era when it was the norm for a game to be no more than a couple of hours unless it was an RPG. 2.5 hours is not by any means bad for a game that you probably haven't explored fully, and there is always that little thing called replayability. Usually light gun fans are interested in achieving higher scores and such.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

The game can pretty much be summed up to "No matter the difficulty option, the moment you get a shotgun there is zero challenge".

Yeah, we thought it was simple when we got the normal shotgun but then we got the auto shotgun the next level and even the bosses were trivial.  We just completely upgraded the auto shotgun and we just really didn't have to try (though our accuracy went all to hell).

My friend tried whatever the most expensive machine gun was, but it was still nothing compared to the auto shotgun.

All new console games are worth full price. Length is not a valid determinant of value: many of the best games ever made can be beaten in far less time than you mention, yet you would never have hesitated to pay full price for them. In this gen, there are games even more expensive that can be beaten in less time, yet you would doubtless pay the price for them too.

If you absolutely must pay less, buy used. This won't kill you, make you less of a gamer, or shrink your genitals, but the game maker will still get everything they're entitled to from the copy you buy, and yet you'll still pay less. Everyone wins.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Easy way to fix this is play on hard with the basic handgun :D Then you have original house of the Dead all over again lol

1. if you have made this thread without comnpleting directors cut i will kill you (and so will sega since you are not allowed to discuss this game on the internet until you have completed this mode)

2. have you got all the achievements?

3. have you unlocked everything in the gallery?

4. the whole point of this game is to get really high scores. thats why in normal mode you dont ever dies just lose points. if youve gone through autoshotgunning everything wihtout getting massive points with goregasm you really havnt experienced this game

Wow, wait. We used to pay around 80$-100$ for short SNES games like Gradius III or Aladdin. Now, because it's a short Wii game, they can't charge full price?

I must say people are getting greedy by the years. o_O

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

So last night I went to go see X-Men Origins: Wolverine with a friend and we got fairly drunk at the movie (hooray Studio Movie Grill) so even though it was midnight or so we came back to my place and decided to play games since he didn't want to drive home.

We pick House of the Dead: Overkill because I had started it and the humor was awesome.

So we play it and we're absolutely loving it.  By the third stage we get the auto shotgun and we just start ripping through everything.  We actually were never even in danger of dying and didn't die until the final boss (friend died once but he just continued so no big deal).

Anyways, I thought the game was fun even though it was ridiculously easy.  We were constantly laughing (which is hard to do in a game), and the game itself is just fun, but there was one problem: we finished the game in under 2 1/2 hours.

What the fuck!?

This was a full priced game and it was only 2 1/2 hours?  What the crap were they thinking?

I don't mind a short game, I don't even mind a full priced 6 hour game if it's really fun, but there's no excuse for a full priced 2 1/2 hour game.

Bah.

Hey I picked up Final Fantasy why does it have all this text?

Hey I bought F-Zero why do I just race cars?

Hey I got a Wii why do I have to use motion controls on Wii sports?

In other words. It's a light gun game what the hell did you expect?  Maybe it shouldn't have been $50 but you should  know these kind of games are not long so it's your fault. Do some research next time.

I'll save this post for when Punch Out and Sin & Punishment come out

How long is Ghostbusters? If its 3 hours im coming to steal your paycheques because you didn't earn them.

Tease.
