Forums - PC Discussion - Facebook or Twitter

I seriously don't understand the fondness of twitter. Its only one tiny portion of all the facebook gives you. I can go on facebook right now and post to everyone that I am nerdily talking on a videogame sales website. Plus, I can play phpDiplomacy (I'm SuperChunk there too) and various other games of all types.

I just don't get it.

If you tweet please tell me why? Why you waste your time on such a pointless site?

im not quite sure actually....

I honestly think that some celebrities have been paid to market this, otherwise i can't understand the attention that it's gotten in the mainstream media in such a short time. I use Facebook a bit, but just to keep in touch with friends overseas.

Exactly. It seems like it is more of a marketing ploy than an useful application. Facebook I like. Especially phpDiplomacy, which can also be played at http://www.phpdiplomacy.net (SuperChunk there as well).

I like facebook's ability to share my photos and stuff with family/friends. Also a lot better and easier to use than Myspace.

None of them.

IMO these are for teenagers.

So they serve two completely different functions and there isn't a real reason in trying to compare them?

I don't use either, but I can atleast read things on twitter.

except... the majority of facebook users are college students, most of them being in there 20's

after all, facebook started as an exclusive harvard networking system. then went ivy league school only ,

expanding to standofrod and yale..
