Forums - Gaming Discussion - Square-Enix - Multiplatform is the way to go

Hmm, it certainly looks like he wants to release the big square games on everything.  It's great news for all gamers if Final Fantasy XIII is released on the 360.

We knew ages ago that spinoffs of FF XIII were coming to other platforms....

Welcome to last year.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Kingdom Hearts- PS3 and Wii?
Final Fantasy- PSWii60?

The Final Fantasy could be a huge blow for Sony.

But recently Square has been publically complaining about PS3 sales. They even made some vocal complaints when the 60GB model dropped to $499, stating that it would take more than that. If they pour tens of millions into a game that could make it on another platform, why not port it over? Go where the money is.

The point here is that Square's entire mindset is shifting.  They originally embraced only one company at a time and provided exclusives, then they started experimenting with titles on other platforms, and now it sounds like multiplatform is going to be their strategy going forward.

well it sounds more like they are making exclusives for each console rather than multiplatform games.

This isn't about FF XIII spin-offs =/

not directly, but it falls in line with Square giving all consoles games. Its also not about FF XIII but no one seemed to comment on the folks talking about FF XIII being multiplat....go figure.

Square has always been multi platform.

mM

They've mostly made exclusive games on different consoles, not multiplatform games.

In "leo-j's" dimension maybe, but in the real world nope... never.

Yeah Square has always been multiplatform. And they HATE spin-offs and remakes. And their games sell very few copies.
