Who said 60% will arrive next year?

The first to eat crow will probably be those who said 50% is never going to happen.

The Wii can hit 60%, but it has to act, and do it quickly in order to secure a 60% marketshare.

At this rate - having MS and Sony beat them to improving their stakes - they will not reach 60%. But Nintendo could drop the price, and buy some exclusives, and they'd easily be on their way there at the end of the year.

It's hard to judge, it all depends what steps will Nintendo take and how fast, if they decide to introduce colours, cut the price or start bundling big software they should be able to increase sales in all reigons.

It also depends on the competition, how fast will MS decide to replace Xbox etc. etc.

I reckon by the end of the generation it could happen but its to early to say. But Wii will easily go past 50% by the end of this year.

Yeah should just hope for the zelda spin off and Kid Icarus to be announced this E3.

 Well if you take what people are insinuating in their posts, then I have Wii is a FAD, Wiimote is a gimmick, When HD adoption takes off Wii is dead, When PS60 get price cut, Wii is through, PS3 is on a ten year plan, and When this game comes out, THEN the PS360 will take off!

So really there are a bunch of potential bingos, like if someone mentions Pachter and how they hate non games, i'll have it

All Nintendo needs to do is make some games. Every time they make games they gain tons of marketshare. Has nobody else noticed this? Right now, with no games, inferior graphics, inferior online (and even inferior pricing according to this Zlejedi character), they're still selling 50% of the consoles each week.

I think there is a lot of expectations that game like Kid Icarus, Zelda, Wii Sport Resorts or Punch Out will help Wii sales.
I have no doubt those games can move a lot of software but I would expect by now that most of the GC owners have already purchased a Wii and it's not games like those that made Wii the phenomenon it is now.
Wii sold like hotcakes because of brilliant marketing and because of games like Wii Sports, Wii Fit and Guitar Hero...

Satisfying the core gamers who may be unhappy with the latest release is good, but I doubt it will boost WIi hardware sales as some are expecting...

Basically people are applying the same concept they apply to HD consoles (core games will boost hardware sales) while the Wii has demosntrated that core games are not the reason why it has been selling so well so far.....

you make very good points some people seem to wonder how the wii sells so well with out games the top six ww show why. haven't added them up but they total is most likely the same as the next fifteen.

you to make very good points though due to currant top six ww wii sports include new owners can see lots of games to buy as well former PS2 non-core are more likely to go with the Wii there will be many people who don't which will make 60% hard but possible.

60%? Shouldn't it get to 50% first. I don't think it will make it.
