Forums - Gaming Discussion - Help me choose which JRPG to play next :)

Okay, I finished Final Fantasy X-2 last night and need my next fix. The only problem is which game I should play so... Therefore I thought you guys (and girls) could help me pick. The alternatives are Brave Story: New Traveler (PSP) Grandia (PS1), Suikoden IV (PS2) and Tales of Symphonia (GC).

And don't just say "play this or that", motivate why I should play it. Alright?

Well considering you just finished X-2 anything is fine since you can only go up from there. :-p

Haha Well, I certainly did'nt think it was a masterpiece, but aside from the overall "Charlie's Angels" theme I thought it was quite good. I mean the figting system is great and I really like Spira. So I would rate it 7/10 (7 = Good).

Grandia:

-Great story, better than ToS
-Great characters, better than ToS
-Great music, better than ToS
-Graphics are horrible for now... but still , better than ToS
-Great VA, better than ToS

Yeah I have heard many good things about ToS over the years. Actually I've never played a Tales game, so maybe it would be a good idea to play ToS before ToV arrives in Europe in June so I'm a little more "into" the series.

Before I made this thread Grandia pretty much was my first hand choice. It looks so… cosy.  How long does it take to finish on the first playthrough?

Well, I have that one too so it's an option I loved Chrono Trigger so... How does it hold up against it?

@piggychan

Alright. Sounds good.

Anyone other than Suikoden IV will do.  That game is not on the same level as some of the other titles in the series.
