Forums - Gaming Discussion - Halo 3 or Metal Gear Solid 4. Which is the greatest/most influential game.

MGS4 was an event in video gaming history. Halo 3 was just a game.

In fairness MGS4 had the advantage of having the greater series behind it.

"Just a game" doesnt sell 9.5 million copies.  I am not a halo fan, in fact far from it however you cant deny the sales numbers that halo games deliver

Okay ''Just a really hyped game that only comes once each generation''

XD

PS3 fans = MGS4

360 fans = Halo 3

Multiplatform owners = 50% MSG4 50% Halo 3

that, pretty much, sums up what this thread will be..

Pixel Art can be fun.

I personally think that MGS 4 is vastly superior to Halo 3, but I bet most FPS enthusiast would say otherwise.

The truth is, they should not be compared and should both end up with distinct legacies.

Halo 3. MGS4 was a huge disappointment.

MGS4 will quite possibly go down in history as the best PS3 exclusive there ever was. Halo 3 has already been topped by Gears of War.

Both games are amazing.

Sales wise it's Halo 3.

But game wise, now thats a hard call.........

i like both, but there are very good alternatives to halo 3 (GoW 2, KH 2, etc..)

MGS 4 has no comparable piece of game, and if you want to make your friends like: "OOHHHHH !" its the better choose

Metal Gear Solid (4) is awesome and epic = better

Halo is nothing - vs MGS(4) ;)

Halo 3 is very disappointment.

the best RPG's are coming 2013 !!!! oh my god, this is perfect for RPG-GAMER = ) Ni No Kuni - 25 january, Time and Eternity, tales of xillia (PS3) and the maybe best game ever: metal gear solid ground zero

In my eyes, MGS4 lived up to the hype, and was generally the better game.

Halo 3 didn't live up to the hype... or over-hype thinking back to before it was released. The Single-Player campaign was pretty mediocre unless you had other people to play it co-op.

Halo was probably the more influential (although not by much) in terms of the few minor things its added to multiplayer FPSs but neither game are more influential then there predecessors.
