Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii-mic coming... huge potential?

The lack of a mic is truly the biggest head-scratcher about the Wii, because it would have cost them almost nothing to add, and would have been another *HUGE* leg-up on the competition in terms of control. Were they maybe worried about more drain on the batteries? How much juice does a blutooth headset suck down (I'd think not much at all) ...although looking at a Wiimote now, I have to wonder where they'd put it... using the Wiimote like a stick mic is *very* tempting/cool, but perhapse they figured a seperate after-market headset was more practical.

Say the magic words + wave Wiimote like a wand in the right motion = spell is cast (and kids who love Harry Potter are instantly captured)

I can't understand it either - very cheap to add, such potential. At least its coming now...

I'd guess they didn't see any developers using a mic anytime soon...it could be a very tiny add-on to the bottom of the Wiimote...but then you'd have to hold your Wiimote upside-down...

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Or on the top. It's on the DS, so why not the wii?
