@luvtospooge I'll agree that a normal attack from the MC is easy as hell to dodge...but no one uses that in PVP unless the opponent is 1 more hit from dying or healing.

Most people utilize the roll attack in MC and as I said before it does a 360 aoe, so unless the spear user has his back against the wall I can actually roll past them and use my aoe attack and it will hit from behind dealing full damage. I have more angles to attack from, and I have a couple frames of invincibility before my attack. The other problem with the blocking idea is unless you wear a max Purple Dragon blocking is more detrimental than helpful. My MC still does 500 damage and that 500 damage doesn't just poof in this game it has to come off opponent stamina. Purple Dragon/Tower shield at max is 85 stamina dr. So one hit of my MC takes off 75 stamina, http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/stat-endurance if you check the chart here you'll see the max stamina any player will ever have is 160 at 40 lvls in stamina. Any shield other than purple dragon or tower shield is just asking to get ripped apart.

I'm not saying spears all suck and everyone should just wield a MC, but there's far better spears that can actually be competitive if built correctly like this http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/istarelle at max stats it does 327 damage and the beauty is 300 of that damage is magical. So even if someone blocks they better have a dark silver shield, or it's gonna hurt.

Actually, that's not how damage is calculated at all.

You have the 500 damage output of your MC, substract the Defense ration of the other's player character, so per example, I have 230 defense ration against Blunt and Slash (MC main damage output), so you'll only be doing 270 tops to my character, unblocked.

Take the 85% Guard Reduction and you'll have that you'll only do 40,5 damage to the other player's stamina. At 160 Stamina, counting that the other player doesn't have Eternal King's Ring which regenerates stamina faster, you'll have to hit him at least 4 times before you drain his bar.

At 160 stamina yourself, you can only do 3 R1 attacks or 2 R2 attacks tops, so no way can you drain the stamina bar of a PFS +10 character that fast :)

I'm playing DS with the laptop on my side, that's why sometimes I respond fast :P

My first time around the game I didn't knew about World Tendencies too, so I just ended up doing both of them in NG+, and let me tell you, PB WT in NG+.... hell >_<

Black Phantom Giant Goblins in world 5 aren't that hard, their attacks are easy to dodge as long as you always walk to their left since they tend to do an overhead swing or a leftwards swing with their right hand club, pretty much like the Adjudicator does ;) If you can dodge Adjudicator's attack, you can dodge Giant Goblins attacks.

If you don't want to melee them, Firestorm or any kind of Fire Spell works great since they are weak to fire.

I used up my Dragon God soul to get Fireball... I'm stupid in so many ways...

Anyways, dodging isn't that much an issue to me, I wear Old King's armor and with 25 endurance and 22 vitality, I'm very fast moving. I also made a Purple Flame Shield +9 as you suggested, it rocks!

@routsounmanman

Actually you did a good choice with Fireball, granted it's not as good as Firestorm in sheer damage output, but it's the best ranged spell in the game, don't bash yourself, you'll use it wonderfully against Black Phantom Giant Goblins ;)

Glad you loved the Purple Flame Shield, to me it's the best shield XD It's guard reduction is so high, even the two handed red eyes in 1-4 in NG+ need to do 3 hits to drain my full stamina bar :P That gives enough time to do anything you want against them xD

Yeah, I did a lot of damage to the ManEaters with Fireball, i'd prefer Firestorm though... As for the Red Eyed Knights, they never get too close to me, I usually Poison+Death Cloud them then take a stroll XD

@routsounmanman

Nice combo for the Knights, lately i've been using my Large Sword of Moonlight against them, specially those that also have Shields with them xD It's just so fun seeing them block and still getting full damage from my Sworld :P

nice what sl are you wanna do some pvp i'm up for a challenge, haven't lost to a single bp yet.

Unfortunatly i'm not at home today, but tommorrow if you want, we'll have a match then ;) What Soul Level are you?

@Nen-Suer

Oh my, sorry I forgot you can't access their webpage >_<

Here's another link: http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/world-tendency

You'll have to do each individual world's tendency separated, that goes for white and black.

Pure White and Pure Black tendencies unlock various series of events in each world, and at Pure Black, adds some new, more difficult enemies, the Black Phantom version of tough world enemies.

where do i get the stones that revive me so i can die in my body form to get PB ?

The stones of Ephemeral eyes can be found throughout levels, you should find at least 30 in a single playthrough.

Also you can farm them in Pure Black 5-2 from the Black Phantom Giant Goblins, but I don't recommend it.

ah that's how defense works ><, MC will still deal damage even if blocked unless with dark silver shield tho, 90 magic damage plus faith modifier. I love magic damage =), well you do too =P with your fat magic moonlight.
