@epicurean

The best way to influantiate the WT's is in offline mode. Online mode the entire WT for the world that you're playing is being balanced out by other player's WT.

Here's a list on how certain events of certain worlds affect the WT (http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/world-tendency and search for How Can I Change It?) but my main tip is always stay in Soul form, because if you die in Physical form, the WT descend into black, if you die in Soul form, the WT stays the same.

I love PvP, most of the times I get the other player off-guard because they think that I'm encumbered by my heavy armour, and that I can only swing the Meat Cleaver once, but with my ring setup and my very high Vitality allows me to be swift as a Rapier and Light Armour user xD

I defeated the Dragon (finally) and I got the shield. What's ironic is that I went to farm souls from the red eyed knight; when I killed him, he dropped a Purple Flame Shield O_o out of all times

looool, talk about bad luck :P Be happy with your PFS, it's still my only shield even after all this time into the game xD

A bit late to the game but... I have a quick question for all you DS veterans. How important is the multiplayer aspect of the game? If I'm unable to play multiplayer how much will it effect the game's longetivity? I really want this game, but living in Australia basically means its impossible for me to get to play this game online due to time difference and lack of local release.

@mibuokami

Well, the online aspect of the game is where you will find the most fun, help and animosity at the same time. In this kind of multiplayer, you'll help and get help by giving pre-set messages about dangers, tips and hidden things and leaving them on the ground in each world and you don't interact directly with other characters until you're a bit advanced in the game (after beating 1-1) and you get an item that can allow you to summon help of two other players to help you pass a difficult boss or stage (you can also give your help with the same item while you're in soul form).

Also, the competitive aspect of the game, PvP, happens with another item as well. To be honest, I haven't dwell on the online after I got to New Game +, basically because in order to get some certain events, like Pure White or Pure Black Tendencies to the worlds in the game, it's very difficult to do so online, as all events made by other players affect your own events, thus creating balancing issues in the end.

You can get the same amount of longetivity playing online or offline, but allow me to correct you in one point. I got the game here in Europe, and it's still the NA version, meaning that I play on the NA servers with +5 hours difference. Believe me, there's always people online, some hours more, some hours less, but even by you being in Australia, you'll find people playing DS ;)

If the game can be played without needing to go online, I'll probably add it to my next order on play-asia, it looked like a lot of fun but I was hesitant because I fear that some part of the game would be impossible to play without getting aid via the online aspect.

And yea there probably will be people online but considering that I'm on a reverse day/night cycle than people on the US and the fact that I don't have the time to play as I use to I tend to not favour game that relies heavily on multiplayer unless its a big game with a large install base.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like another game for my collection.

God I'm such collection whore, I think I've finished less than 30% of all my games lol.

The game is a lot of fun, but you got to be prepared with an open minded mentality, because you ARE going to die a lot in the game xD

Every part of the game can be played and finished without the online, and even if you ever need help, you can always ask here for tips ;)

I'm a collection whore myself, but I have a lot of completion in my games, especially if they are RPG's xD

Got my Platinum Trophy today :)

I never really cared about trophies, but I had to get it for this game lol.

Time to put Demon's Souls down after almost 90 hours of playtime. Time to move on. :(

At some point, something must have come from nothing...

...nothing can come from nothing...

I'm trying to get it just because I love playing the game so much, I'm looking for other things to do in it.  But i have a long ways to go...just 2 bosses left in NG+, then on to NG++....

Owner of PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, and 3DS

Damn, I still have a long way to go too xD And I'm just frustrated at Demon's Souls now, those damn Pincer Attack BP Fat Ministers on PB WT 1-3 in NG+ got me extremely pissed off -_-
