You didn't. Trust me, this has been a long time coming.

Ok. We've discussed the situation and agreed that Kwaad should get one more chance. Just know that you are on thin ice. And for future reference, if someone has a problem with a decision or comment a moderator makes, email and/or the mod channel and/or personal messenging is the appropriate way to discuss them. "What the fuck" would probably be considered a bad way to convey one's opinion about a mod's action.

I had a nice huge addition to that, to make it more... meaningful... but I was banned about 15 seconds before I pushed submit... so... yeah :(

It's not your fault souixan and it has nothing to do with your post. I guess the mods are finally getting tired of Kwaad's behavior. As for your original question it seems that since you already have a Wii and you want JRPGs the most the next logical system to get would probably be the other Japanese system, the PS3. Unless the 360 stages a huge comeback in Japan I doubt a lot of the smaller Japanese developers would make many JRPGs for the relatively small amount of 360 customers over there. Mistwalker's Blue Dragon is a good start but it's likely they are heavily being supported by Microsoft. Honestly I think a lot of the smaller JRPG developers like Nippon Ichi and Game Arts will be attracted to the Wii for it's relatively low development costs and it's recent success, but it's possible that will change. Over time the niche developers will always flow toward the system with the largest install base and I think a Wii/PS3 combo is a pretty safe bet, especially for the JRPG lovers out there. Of course I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a DS too... Dragon Quest IX is coming out exclusively for the DS.

Souixan, here is what I think you should do given what you stated in your initial post. I'm sorry what occured your topic thus far. Please know that most of us here do not resort to trolling. Anyway, back to the topic. Well since you seem to be looking to the purchase in the near term, then the 360 is the obvious choice. The PS3 will most likely have the most Japanese style RPGs during its life time. That said in the near term the 360 will have more Japanese RPGs. Enchanted Arms is out now. Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Lost Odyssey all come out this year.

That would be a positive for the PS3 if it weren't $200 more than the 360. All things being equal, the cheaper solution is always the best one.

souixan said: I'm looking at a few games that aren't coming out for Nintendo Wii. The Wii was a clear base choice for me as it has more games I'm seeking so end deal there. Now I have the wii, very happy with it by the way, but I find myself looking at a lack of jRPG's.(keep in mind I hate stuff like Fable etc) My current hope for my jRPG fix is Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy 13 and Fire Emblem(I realize it's rpg/strat.) Blue Dragon I'm wary on because it's done by a new studio(even if it is made by people in the business for a while)and well ... I haven't liked Final Fantasy much since #6, been all downhill in my sights, despite them being good games overall the quality in my eyes has been slipping. Given these facts I'm asking around what choice people think I should make. I'll probably own all 3 eventually, but I'm talking the here and now. Which do you think I should grab the 360 or the ps3? Just opinions please ^^; don't really need facts or people quoting me figures on how strong Cell is or how many polygons xbox 360 can process. I'm interested in which you guys think is the most fun and why, power means absolutely nothing to me. Sorry that was more long winded then I wanted it to be ^^;
Okay. Please note: I am a Xbox 360 owner. Please let me state that before I begin my RPG rant. Having said this, it really just depends on what you want in an RPG. The PS3 still has FFXIII and VS XIII, as well as most likely will get a few good hits from Namco, future songs from SE, ect. However, with it's poor asian preformance, I'd assume that a decent bit might end up going to the Wii or DS, as DS seems to be the platform of choice for many RPGs. Now, as a 360 owner, I'm rather happy with the state of JRPGs for the 360. Just check my post in the games section. The 360 won't have the best # of JRPGs, however Blue Dragon looks terrific, and has scored VERY well in both US and Japaneese magazines. I believe it scored near a 38-39 in Famitsu, and has a 88%+ on Gamerankings, which is very good for JRPGs. Having said that, the 360 seems to have a decent bit (although not as many) JRPGs. It does, however have some great niche ones like Culdicept Saga, Circle of Doom (must have for any JRPG lover), Enchant Arms and Magna Carta are all smaller titles by JRPG and KRPG companies. Mistwaker is an awesome studio, and is backed by MS, so we should expect to see alot of great RPGs coming from them. Again, not in the amount of titles that the DS or PS3 should see, but it's a considerably higher # than the Xbox had. Plus we have Eternal Sonata and Infinite Undiscovery that are great wildcards, as they look like very strong JRPGs that will come to the US. However, if you like Western RPGs at all, the 360 has a HUGE lead over both, even combined. The 360 IS the home of the western RPG on consoles. With Sacred coming over to 360, it now has Oblivion, Sacred, Fallout 3, Two Worlds, Mass Effect and a few others that look to be great RPGs for the 360. Heck, Fallout 3 and Oblivion are just worth the price of admission. Not everyone likes W-RPGs, but they can be very good at times. So again, it's going to be really hard to pick a console for the home of the JRPG as it seems fractured now, with DS getting the lions share, and everything else getting the scraps. But again, I am a HUGE mistwaker fan, as they've seem to taken S-Es momentum. I haven't seen a JRPG I'm excited for as much as Blue Dragon in awhile.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

mrstickball - very good arguement. The RPG I'm waiting for truthfully... well there's about 3 of them. 1. White Knight story. Oh how soon we forget about things that dont get in the news every day. 2. Elder Scrolls 5. (I know it's not announced, but I want it either way) 3. X4. Ok. It's not a RPG, but then agian, it's not a space sim, RTS, or empire builder... it's bascially all of them... I say RPG, becuase you create your empire, and you do it the way you want. Your character progression isnt your player, it's your empire. So it's not really a RPG, but it's everything else combined. White Knight is I think PS3 exclusive. Elder Scrolls 5... put money on it, it will be PC/PS3/360 X4 will be PC exclusive, unless they finally port it to consoles.

Thanks everyone especially mrstickball, that was extremely well thought out actually >.> I agree on a lot of points with you, though I usually dislike W-RPG's they just have a different direction.. I dunno. I tried Enchant Arms actually it was decent but somehow felt a bit tacky if that makes sense. If there was an Enchant Arms II I'd probably grab it but if it wasn't better I'd never opt for a third. I'm pretty sure Mistwalker has 2 for this year and 1 early next year which is decent. Between my wii, ds and that I could make it work. Amount of games isn't really my concern so much as quality. As it stands I'm only really interested in the 2 said Mistwalker games and FF13 not even VS 13. Like I said, in the end I'll have all three probably just a matter of when I grab them. As of now I think I gotta agree though, I can pick up a 360 much more cheaply then a PS3.. I'm not poor I could easily afford both but... I really don't want to shell out that kind of coin all at once. I do have to say you pointed out some names on the 360 I have never heard of though. Pretty sure I'm going with 360 first after weighing everything out. One more question if anybody can... think I should wait for a price cut, is it in the near future? Or should I just go ahead and grab it whenever? PS. Blue Dragon got a 37 on Famitsu, very good score especially considering it's on the 360.
