Forums - Sony Discussion - Crisis Core PSP Sells Out in Japan

MGS4 will have a great result in Japan , sure not FFXIII but it will help a lot ;)

Wait, not hours ago you were just saying that under 1 million in Japan is bad (in reference to Phantom Hourglass), but MGS has never sold 1 million in Japan, even on the PS2.

Anyway, pretty good sales and a pretty good opening week.  It's not going to sell the numbers of Monster Hunter games in Japan, but it will probably sell about as well as the FFIII remake for DS did (around 1 million).  I hope this isn't a preview of what FFXIII will be like... that would be pretty pathetic for FFXIII.  Anyway, I'll be sure to pick it up when it hits America.  I wonder how much those PSPs are going to be selling for on eBay.

1 million is bad for Nintendo , not for Sony ... because I have to admit , Sony is strugling a lot , while Nintendo is literally pwning everithing . I am a realist felow , and at this point for Nintendo software 1 million is not that much ( like OMGWTF!!! ), while for Sony unfortunatly is :( Lets hope that this trend will change fast for Sony ...

Yes... Sony is struggling right now, but they certainly weren't struggling with the PS2.  It's not been passed by the DS yet (should be passed around mid 2008 in Japan), and is still the best selling console in Japan of all time.  Conversly, the PS3 has sold just about as much as the Sega Saturn in Japan... don't expect much out of MGS4.

Well I do hope that the PS3 will have ( no , I know ) batter sales overall than the Saturn ... in the same time I adored the Saturn , almost as much as my PSone ... Sony deffinatly has to lower the price of the PS3 for at least 400$ and than we will see hopefully batter sales to :)

Well good news for the PSP! Personally I think the best traditional console experience is on the PSP-2000. Great to hear that there will be another game that I have to get for it. I'm disappointed it isn't getting more games but glad that it has a nice library of quality games. But that's just me.

I bet this game looks nice with the TV-out feature 8)
