It is better than RE4 in every way.

could you ellaborate?

i dont think it is near re4 at all it has better graphix and the strafe feature is good but wen re4 came out in 05 it was a new fresh experience

now 4yrs later compared to other games that have came out in that time re5 feels dated really bad

re5 has many problems re4 didnt like the save system in re5 u can go back and play chapters multiple times to farm ammu and then continue the next chapter erasing the tense feeling of running low on ammo

in re5 u have a AI partner that shoots at the enemy's ur shooting at so it becomes harder to pull off melle attacks and to have a good stradegys b/c u have to baby set her

In re5 u cant go back to explore past areas during live game sessions theres is check points with some stupid gate and a loading screen separating the areas making the game feel un real and broken up

I really enjoyed RE5. The controls were simple and easy to get use to. Chris isnt as cool as Leon but its all good.

The atmosphere wasnt all that great nor as scary as RE1-3, but what kind of environment did you expect from Africa? Make RE6 the exact same gameplay with RE3 environment and that'll be more awesome.

I love the local offline co-op feature, no better way to enjoy a game than with somebody else with you. I hope they keep this feature for all the upcoming RE games. The AI can be quite displeasing at times.

All in all its definately worth the money and since I collected all the trophies I can say that its got a long and fun replay value.

Well, everyone has an opinion on this. I don't know which game is 'better' persay, but I will say that I have already played RE5 more than RE4. MUCH more. The achievements were fun (just hit 1000 yesterday, which is rare for me), but it was the co-op that MADE the game for me. Its simply a great co-op experience. I imagine that most that don't like it don't have a buddy (or 2 in my case) to play through the game with, because its a MUCH different experience having a buddy by your side.

And to those that say it isn't scary, that's your opinion. Most games aren't scary, especially number 5 in a series where you've come to know what to expect. You're probably just jaded. But there were some moments that scared the bejeezus out of me and my co-op buds and we still get a huge laugh as we talk about those moments.

Lots of fun with the game and recommend it highly, but mainly to those that have the sense to play co-op.

yeah i dont really have to much of a problem with the control's maybe just add move and shoot at the same time or some movement while in shooting mode

I think re needs that type of enviroment everybody can relate 2 with city buldings libaries police stations hospitals sewers roads with asphalt on them and bring back the zombies that moan that was scary and the zombie chicks not this crap with half naked guys with pre christ weapons like sticks  axes bow and arrows and potery covering there faces for sheilds and those wooden shiels they caried its suppposed to RE not ancient cave man barbaric enemies bow and arrows wats up with that is this a robin hood game?

I thought it was good. I didn't care for the controls but the game was balanced to those controls. I maybe in the minority but I did not really think the Sheva AI was all that bad. I had two things that bothered me with her: her preference for the pistol in even insane times, and there was one place where we had to get into an elevator when being swarmed where she would just not get in. I was fearing it would be a long baby sitting excercise playing with a bot who if they died you died but she handled herself pretty well. I actually liked the chain gun parts in chapter 2 but they reminded me of the exterior gun parts of Dead Space just done much better as you had a wider field of fire in RE5 and the quick time events in them kept it mixed up a bit. I also really liked the diversity of the game, with many different environments in the game. I had low expectations to start with and really it turned out to meet or beat pretty much all of those.

RE4 was actually the start of this tribale stuff it went all out in re5 i just jope this is the last we see of this type of atmoshphere and location im getting sick of of it

                                                                      Play Me

I haven't played it, but that's because:

  • I wasn't a fan of the controls for RE4 for the Gamecube, but that was something I was actually willing to get over
  • I don't want to play co-op
  • I don't want to deal with your shitty AI teammate
  • I don't want to deal with their shitty inventory system and the partner AI making the inventory system even worse

So I guess my opinion is get the co-op the fuck out of my Resident Evils.  Not every game has to have co-op.

i liked it. Its my favorte RE to date

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I hated the demo, I hated the game, but by the of it all I had fallen inlove with it, but by no means was it perfect. It lacked horror, the story was the worst yet, the inventory was really annoying, for a tps action shooter it was annoying to consistently look for ammo, not being able to let Sheva use a gun other than the pistol until she is out of ammo was stupid, the last boss was annoying, there was no atmosphere in the game and the graphics were overrated.

Yes the characters looked amazing but everything else was average with static backdrops and good to crap textures.

The atmosphere was crap not due to the location but how the devs used it. There are so many books on African rituals and myths that could be used to scare people yet not one of them used!

For an action game it lacked the action controls and A.I.

However, despite the negatives I still love the game. I played it having borrowed my mates but I will be buying my own copy soon.
