How many legs does a cow have if you call the tail a leg ??? Four, calling the tail a leg doens´t make it one.

I must agree that Zelda 2 is the black sheep of the series.

 It has "Zelda" on the cover. It is in the main Zelda storyline and not a spinoff.  Heck, it's the second Zelda game ever.

It looked like Zelda, but wasn't really Zelda. You had to kill enemies to gain experience. There were random encounters. The music sucked. NO BOOMERANG!!!

I hated the sound when you engaged in an enemy encounter.....annoying.

OK, for everyone nominating Zelda II and Super Mario Sunshine: I don't think "not quite as awesome" qualifies as what this thread defines as "black sheep". It has to be not what you would call a very good game.

I've heard Metroid II on Game Boy is a black sheep.

Hmm, I should have thought this encounter through...

Although if we're arguing Zelda 2's validity, it gets a few points for being the Black Sheep of the Zeldas.

Also, I loved how the final dungeon assumes you're max level and is STILL hard. One of my dormmates back in college tried to outlevel the game. He reached max level in the second dungeon. I didn't tell him that strategy wouldn't work.

I was so cruel.

Earthworm Jim 3-D. I still can't beat the first boss. The 2D to 3D  conversion of the N64/PS1 era hurt me so much. But it's Earthworm Jim, right? His games can't be that bad, right?

The only consolation is that I bought it for $5.
