I think games like Starfox and F-Zero will become hits once Wiimotion+ becomes a standard, since both of those games rely on high sensitivity controls, which the current wii does not have.

Serious_Fisting, they were released simultaneously after numerous delays on the Gamecube. Do you consider Kameo an X360 port of a last gen game too?

 

 

Actually, it came out on Wii a few weeks prior to the GC release.

I don't even think it was simultaneous. I'm pretty sure the Wii version came out like a month in advance. If Twilight Princess is a GC port, then what about the other dozen or so games that began development as GC titles and jumped ship?

best selling were Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Smash which are not abandoned, but sold more this gen instead!

we have Mario galaxy.
We have metroid prime corruption
we have warioware.
we have mario party
we have animal crossing.
we have super paper mario.
we have Zelda tp
we have mario kart.
we have pokemon battle revolution
we are barely two years and some odd months into the life of the wii
and we have pretty much all of nintendo's big franchises on the wii.

If anything nintendo is trying to bring back some of their franchises.
i mean they are trying to make pikmin more well known, re-releasing both to a new audience.
punch out!! is being brought back after a decade of absence.
the excite games are back.
battalion wars is out for wii

and on top of this we have games for DS like
Pokemon pearl/diamond/ plat.
they brought back classic 2d mario in NEW SUPER MARIO BROS.


PLUS MANY MORE GAMES FOR DS(two zelda's, mario kart ds, metroid wario ware, animal crossing, 2 advance wars...etc.)

and on top of all these games nintendo has managed to introduce new franchises!!!
nintendogs, brain age, wii(music, fit, sports..)

just because star fox hasn't been announced doesn't mean its not coming..
i mean one for the ds recently came out!
nintendo's finacial reports show that kibry IS in develoment for wii(though it has been in development since before wii was out lol)

Seriously we have 6 weeks until we find out what Nintendo has in store until the end of the year.. We'll hear about plenty of titles..

Nintendo has sold 50 million copies, thanks to only 8 of their Wii games released in 2008... i don't even mention DS games here... and you say they have abandonned their "best selling IP's"?

But they've done better than ever before! I think it's already an historical success... in fact, it's nearly unbelievable, when you compare them to anyone else in this industry...

And as most of their AAA titles take 2 to 4 years to be made, i think Wii and DS libraries have been treated the right way...

All the games you've mentionned are quality games, and deserve sequels, for sure... but seriously, they were nearly "niche successes" compared to the actual line-ups, you can't blame Nintendo for having other priorities, bringing them billions and billions...

Seriously, Nintendo has only 3000 employees, commercials and hardware engineers included... and none of these employees is paid for miracles: they work the best they can and can't do more and more "just like that", except if Nintendo creates new teams, or buys 2nd party teams...

A question to OP: would you have the budget to buy 2 or 3 times more games?

Just be thankful for what you've got... there are many ways to be pleased with Wii and DS, and there are three other consoles out there if you're still not happy... what more could you ask for?
