I think FFXIII 360 will mainly use the feature of the new 360 dashboard where you can store games to your 360's harddrive to compensate for the lack of space on the 360's dvds.  My question about this is would you let FFXIII take up 45 to 60 gigs on your 360's hard drive to play the game?

No way Microsoft will require let anyone require installs for any game, although it is used as an option if you want to cut down on load times.  I'm sure it's gonna be half the size on 360 as on PS3 and almost be exactly the same thing.

I don't know usually when you compress something by half there is a very noticable loss in quality.  Eg.  Dvd quality vs. Blu Ray Quality or those normal videos on youtube compared to their hd versions are examples that come to mind.

Do you really think the difference will be anything close to Blu-Ray vs. YouTube vidoes?  Come on, be serious.  If they put it on 4 discs (or 5) it'll likely be that the vast majority of people wouldn't even notice a difference.  Hell, the 360 version might end up being superior in the end if it has a better average frame rate or resolution or the actual gaming parts look sharper on it.

the 360 version will not take up 45-60 GB. Alot of the reason PS3 games take up so much memory is only partially due to the HD visuals but alot of the data us redundant on the disk to help improve load times because BD read is only 2X on the PS3. the 360 has a 12X dvd drive so it dosnt need this redundant code.

dont quote me but i swear i read this in an assload of places a couple years ago

I went through the entire game never having to backtrack discs.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I'm also asking not to be quoted on this, but I do believe this is true, however slightly misleading. It would appear that the drive is 6x slower on the PS3, but if I remember correctly, Blu Rays do not need to spin as fast to read the same data. I think the discrepancy is only 2:1 in favor of the 360's DVD drive. It might be a little less or more though.

I don't remember multiple discs being a problem when I played FF7. For the Playstation fans that seem to think it's a deal breaker, what problems did you have with multiple discs with previous installments of the series?

That's not what I said.  I said the difference would be DVD vs. Blu-Ray or regular youtube videos versus HQ Youtube videos if the 360 version is compressed down to half the size of the uncompressed PS3 version.

oh yeah i agree with you i was just throwing those numbers out to inform people. Regardless my point is the same. The BD drives arnt quite fast enough on the PS3
